all of these qualities are good and well but have to emerge from a filmmaker’s understanding of what the camera does, how to create filmic space, how to covey emotions visually - the elusive but fundamental ideas of mise-en-scene!

Quite obviously fucking not if you don’t like anything you’ve heard about the movie and don’t like anything by Ken Russell.
This post is Insufferable and Attention seeking. Just go see the movie, why even post this faggotry ?

I've written about the Cameron Winter Carnegie Hall thing before and what i find most interesting is that, until recently, witnessing seminal cultural events was sort of a luck of circumstance. You didn't know that Dylan at Newport or the Royal Albert Hall would become what it was or Tupac at the House of Blues would be that moving or that the Daft Punk Alive tour was going to be something everyone talked about for the next two decades.
But with this concert, everyone was sort of told "this is going to be history-making" before it even happened which turned it into this odd futures market that people paid thousands of dollars to buy into. For the first time you could ensure you were there at some culturally significant event. It's a bizarre new world out there, and I say this as someone who likes Geese and Cameron Winter and this concert recording!

It seems that Bill Krohn is no longer with us. His piece on Allan Dwan, 'The Cliff and the Flume,' I count among the masterpieces of film criticism. RIP. sensesofcinema.com/2003/feat…

João Bénard da Costa entendía que amar el cine también era hacer que otros pudieran encontrarlo. Porque el amor por las películas es, a veces, una botella lanzada al mar.
