Despite a possible plateau in global greenhouse-gas emissions last year, average temperatures are set to hurtle past 2 °C

Getty Images has been one of the most annoying company people I know have ever had to deal with: they at one point allegedly had a scraper checking for any people who even on random blogs had downloaded one of their pictures from like Google Images and used it without permission
literally finding small website owners who didn't mean anything bad and fining them, fucking insane

🚨‼️ Wall Street is reportedly repackaging risky AI data center debt and quietly selling it to pension funds, retirement funds, and university endowments.
Do you remember the aftermath of 2008 crisis?
🚨 This is concerning!
Billions in risky data center debt are reportedly being repackaged and sold to pension funds, retirement funds, and university endowments.
Sounds familiar? This is eerily similar to what happened before the 2008 financial crisis, when risky mortgages were bundled into complex financial products and sold to investors.
The big concern? If the AI boom slows down or data centers fail to generate expected returns, the losses could eventually hit ordinary people’s retirement savings.
AI may be the next big revolution, but the way it’s being financed deserves serious scrutiny.
Different bubble, similar warning signs.

white boys having this much motion back in 2011 proves that the world ended in 2012 and this is hell
Really insane how absurd this clip is and now people are asking AI to make bullshit exactly this on a daily basis
Gold is fucked, got it.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."
boomers learned to talk on the phone when it was all over copper, there was zero lag, the audio quality wasn't compressed to shit
they give millenials and zoomers this disgusting VoIP slop w/ 2001 teamspeak audio and 500ms lag and wonder why we don't make calls

Billionaire media mogul John Malone predicts Elon Musk could invest up to $10 billion in Skydance, helping the company reduce its debt while giving SpaceX’s Starlink a foothold in entertainment.
Speaking Wednesday, Malone pointed to Musk’s business portfolio and ties to Skydance backer Larry Ellison, father of CEO David Ellison.
The investment has not been confirmed.

Blur removal patches for Genki's games (Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Fuun, Ninkyouden) are out! I will prepare blog pages for those a bit later, but for now you can grab them directly from GitHub.
Kaido Racer also got patches to autostart in PAL60 and in English.

the people who preach about safety tend to be “philosophers” who assume the models in practice are perfectly-developed agents the way you assume no friction in a physics problem
they do not account for substandard or just plainly dogshit RL which is the true root cause
