This video captures key moments from the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) conducted at Siemens Energy facilities for equipment under the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) Phase 1 Batch 1.
FAT is a critical quality assurance process that verifies equipment meets the required technical specifications and performance standards before shipment and installation.
The process has already delivered results under the PPI, with the successful installation and commissioning of the transformer at the Apo Transmission Substation in Abuja during the Pilot Phase.
As site works progress nationwide, each milestone represents another step towards strengthening Nigeria’s transmission infrastructure and delivering more reliable electricity to homes, businesses and industries.

Under the Pilot Phase of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), FGN Power Company installed a 60MVA Power Transformer at the Apo Transmission Substation in 2023.
The transformer increased the substation’s transmission wheeling capacity, strengthening its ability to deliver more power to the distribution network and improve electricity supply to communities within its coverage area.
🎥 Watch this testimonial video to understand why it is critical that equipment and technologies deployed across Nigeria’s power sector are properly tested, certified and proven to meet the required standards and global best practices.
The Apo transformer is one of several transformers and mobile substations manufactured, installed, energised and commissioned under the PPI Pilot Phase, with these critical assets now serving substations and supporting improved transmission capacity across Nigeria.
Quality equipment. Rigorous testing. Stronger infrastructure. Better power delivery.
