“Do I need a laptop for DSA?” Hold my Stanley cup 😂 Plugged a keyboard & mouse into my pixel via USB-C & solved Two Sum in cpp. You don’t need a ₹2L Mac to get started. Jigra chahiye bas :)

RIP 🪦 Jules, I had a fun time experimenting w/ Jules building some web3 projects a year ago.
When we launched Jules, it was an experiment to learn how asynchronous coding agents can help developers ship faster. Seeing what you built taught us so much about where agentic development is headed, directly shaping several products across @Google. We’re working on bringing our learnings from Jules into @antigravity so you get the best of both worlds: autonomous remote background task execution and an agent-first development environment. As we focus on this unified experience, Jules will be winding down. Whether you used Jules to crush bugs, write tests, or launch features— thank you for shaping the future of agentic coding! 💙🦑

Imagine being so bitter about someone’s office lunch that you celebrate them losing their livelihood. Schandenfreude isn't "dank", it's just peak insecurity. Stop cheering for the iceberg when we're all on the same ship. 📉

I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model. Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching. We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards. As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

Man this is so well put! 💯
If AI makes you 10x faster at coding, why is your team not shipping 10x faster? Amdahl's law has the answer... The law says the overall speedup is capped by the part you did not speed up. With `p` as the fraction of the work you accelerate and `s` as the speedup on that fraction, speedup is computed as attached. Now plug in some numbers. Say writing code is 30% of the time from idea to production, and AI makes that part 10x faster. The overall speedup is 1 / (0.7 + 0.03), which is about 1.37x. Even if coding is half of the cycle, you get about 1.8x. These numbers are illustrative, so use your own, but the shape stays the same. The rest of the cycle is still there: - Figuring out what to build - Aligning product, design, and other teams. - Code reviews, which are now more than ever - CI and CD takes the same wall time as before. - Debugging and incidents, where code that nobody on the team wrote line by line takes longer to understand. In fact, it can get worse than Amdahl predicts. Faster code generation increases the load on every stage after it, so the review queue grows and the bottleneck shifts. A team that writes 10x more code with the same review capacity is just building a bigger queue, unfortunately So if you want the team to actually ship faster, measure the whole path from idea to production and find where work waits. Then apply AI there too: review, test generation, flaky test triage, deploy safety checks. Otherwise, you have optimized the part of the system that was never the constraint. Speeding up the typing was always the easy part :)

9.7/10 series! Love it ♥️ Must watch. Some episodes do feel like filler, which is ok, but the peak starts towards the end of Season 4 & the series end is perfect. Absolutely recommended if you’re looking to start a new series. Mentalist :)

I’ll never forget this guy on X who said, “AI is replacing software engineers. We’re all cooked!” I replied, “We’re not. You are.” 😂 Then he played the age card, telling me I was too young to understand and that he’d been in this industry longer than I’d been alive. I just don’t see it that way… We’re entering a whole new era of software development. And personally, I couldn’t be more excited about it. One day, we’ll look back at how we used to build software and think, “How the hell did we put up with all that?” All the boilerplate, plumbing, wiring, and countless hours spent debugging things that had nothing to do with the actual problem we were trying to solve. I never forget the days I used to spend hours fixing broken tests. I don’t want to go back. AI is changing the way we build software, freeing us to spend more time on what really matters: solving problems and building great products people actually want. But here’s the thing. The better you understand software, the better you can guide AI. Knowing what to ask, how things fit together, and when something doesn’t make sense matters more than ever. If you think software development is dead, you're welcome to believe that. Less competition for the rest of us. 😉 We’re just getting started.

If you find 2 cockroaches in your kitchen, the best estimate of the total number of cockroaches in your kitchen is not two.
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work. At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated. We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.
