SERBIA: TONIGHT BELGRADE IS CLOSER TO BRUSSELS The European Democratic Party welcomes the victory of the Student List (Studentska lista) in the parliamentary election held in Serbia on 25 October 2026. The result ends more than a decade of dominance by Vučić’s Serbian Progressive Party and gives the country a new chance on its European path. “An extraordinary victory for democracy, for freedom and for the future of Serbia!” said @sandrogozi , Renew Europe MEP and Secretary-General of the EDP. “This incredible result is the achievement of an entire generation of young people who had the courage, determination and strength to convince citizens of all ages that change was not only necessary, but possible.” democrats.eu/news/serbia-ton…

Jordan can count on Canada in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on a Greek Orthodox funeral in Karak. I spoke with Foreign Minister @AymanHsafadi to reiterate our solidarity with the Jordanian people and our determination to confront the hatred and extremism that fuel such violence. Jordan has long been an important voice for peace and stability in the Middle East. At a time of profound challenges across the region, our close cooperation remains essential, and we will stay in direct contact in the weeks ahead.

Sadly, we have been informed that the number of martyrs from the terrorist attack on St George’s Church in Jordan has risen from 7 to 9. We pray for our brothers who have borne witness to Christ through their martyrdom, as well as for the swift recovery of the injured.

Today, mourners attending a funeral at a Greek Orthodox church in Karak, Jordan, were targeted in a despicable act of terror.

This attack violated the sanctity of a place of worship and struck families at a moment of profound sorrow. Canada condemns this violence in the strongest possible terms.

My deepest condolences to the families of those killed, those who have been injured, the Greek Orthodox community, and all who are grieving this loss.

Thank you, @UsAmbCanada. We are grateful for the United States’ solidarity and generous offer of assistance during this difficult time. Our thoughts remain with the deceased and injured soldiers, their families, and all those affected by this tragedy.
Our prayers remain with all affected by the tragedy at @CanadianForces Base Wainwright. To support the recovery of soldiers affected by traumatic burns, the U.S. government has made a formal offer of assistance and resources to the Government of Canada, should it be deemed necessary.

I agree with Dan this is a much more productive thing to do - actual, actionable changes - than some amorphous tax review by “experts” who will just recommend hiking sales taxes as a matter of ideology. #cdnpoli
If true, these budget rumours would be a big deal for small business. CFIB has been pushing hard for a reduction in the small business corporate rate from 9 to 6%. In addition, for more than a decade, we've been calling for a lower rate of EI premiums for smaller payrolls. We've suggested smaller firms have their EI rate tied 1:1 with the employee rate, rather than the current 1.4 multiplier. Fingers crossed for Nov 5. nationalpost.com/news/canada…
