Can’t believe we forgot to mention that shot of Peterson/Turturro down the hallway. What a shot, in a film full of them. I love this movie, wrongly criticized at the time as a Miami Vice ripoff. It’s SO much more. Great cast, desperate humans, and a cool look at dirtbag LA.

The movie that got @funrunrecords to stay out until 11:30 on a school night. And how. We took a month to process this one and see what bubbled to the surface. I loved it and hated it, loved the experience, and loved being the two people laughing our asses off in a full theater.

Somehow, we made it to 200 episodes. To celebrate, we rented out a private theater to watch two of the greatest movies with our friends. Hollywood is the greatest movie to see in a theater, Nice Guys is the hardest I've laughed in a theater. And somehow, we have 200 episodes.

Check out the straights talking about the late 70s NYC leather scene! I think Cruising is great, and we get into all the reasons that it might also not be good at all? Charlie learns about hanky code, and a large unknown black man interrupts our recording to punch me in the face.

The Best Movie of 2023! Child leans into the same themes as Father, and this film definitely feels like Cronenberg. This goes from being a "trapped in a foreign prison" horror to an immediate swing into fucking sci fi death clone murder tourism and it rules. It doesn't explain.

This is a BIG one. I wanted to do Nashville for ep 176 since oh sometime after we passed 100. I love it. I don't know if there are 5 movies I love more. It still makes me laugh, it still makes me sad, I still find more to love about it every time. Is it the best? It certainly is.
