This is the ATO Commissioner Rob Heferen appointed in 2024 by @AustralianLabor Treasurer @JEChalmers. He’s a career Public Servant and he’s paid $928,980 a year. He’s never worked outside of the APS (Australian Public Service) or run a small business & neither has anyone on his team, yet he was happy to cut off credit card payments, the cash flow lifeline small businesses depend on when the tax bill lands. Well done @JNampijinpa for holding him to account.

@fuwap15 this is the house my great grandfather brought out with him from Ireland when he settled in Keilor. It was also the Keilor Post Office. Indeed, I am told they didn't build an Official Post Office until after his death.

The public service has a reckoning coming. Paul Graham has been paid 13.6 million taxpayer dollars in his five years in charge of Australia Post. In his five years in charge Australia Post has suffered an operating loss of 320 million dollars. This is why the Australian taxpayer has to repay a debt of 1 trillion dollars. The Citizens Party is very pleased that the Albanese government has finally responded to the concerns about post office closures that triggered the current Senate inquiry, and announced its own major inquiry into the future of Australia Post.
However, the Citizens Party is calling on the government and its House Communications Committee that is conducting its inquiry to take a number of basic steps that are the bare minimum requirements to save post offices and conduct a successful inquiry.
