Good music, somewhat decent story, areas kept me intrigued. Could've been so much better if Game Freak just put in a bit of effort. A remake of this gen would be absolutely stellar I'd bet.

Back then it was a technical limitation. Now, it's because of nostalgia for how games were back then, mixed with the disconnect with people not wanting "hyper realistic" games anymore because there's a distinct lack of style.
Final Fantasy X programmer doesn’t get why devs want to replicate low-poly PS1 era games. “We worked so hard to avoid warping, but now they say it’s charming”

After seeing the horrors of the digital era and "you own nothing", yeah. Went back to physical media (or DRM-free digital options). Can't beat it.

If anyone is still into the PS3 scene, or has been in the past, please help to keep the PS3Xploit site running which enables new PS3 modders to downgrade, and HFW their consoles! Anything helps!

I still love iTunes for effectively being the GOG of music. No DRM, no bullshit, just buy your album and download it, and use it on anything.

GOG continuing to be the best platform for buying games.
Thanks to the dedication of developers and publishers, we are launching FreedomToBuy.games. To raise awareness on censorship in gaming, 13 games are now available for free for 48h as a part of stand for creative freedom and preservation. We believe that if a game is legal and responsibly made, players should be able to enjoy it today – and decades from now. It’s our statement: when games are delisted today because of discomfort, reviving them tomorrow becomes exponentially harder. Visit FreedomToBuy.games to learn more.

Thank you to everyone who has answered! Now, side question, anyone know any DRM-free places I can buy books at?
Anyone got any recommendations for fiction books to read? Don't care if it's comics, manga or text-only. Wanna start getting into reading again as opposed to Doom scrolling awful platforms.

The Brits are at it again. And I guarantee the EU isn't far behind.
The Uk government forcing discord to scan my face or show my id to verify my age is genuinely draconian. "Oi you got a license for that" jokes are 100% justified.

People keep asking me to cover Collective Shout or when the video exposing Collective Shout is coming out. There is nothing to expose here. Five minutes of research told me everything I needed to know. Collective Shout is an organization that has been lobbying for this kind of stuff for years with little success. Suddenly they send out a letter, and Visa and Mastercard just happen to crack down on this because of a no-name company? No. The truth is, this was always in the works. Collective Shout became a convenient excuse for Visa and Mastercard to move forward with legislation they already had in the works. Visa and Mastercard have been trying to censor adult sites since 2003, and it wasn’t until 2020 that they really started to ramp things up. Did people forget how they went after Pornhub in 2020? Or OnlyFans in 2021? You’re spending time attacking Collective Shout when the real force behind this has always been the payment processors. So maybe spend less time going after a no-name company and more time holding Visa and Mastercard accountable for pulling this kind of stunt. That’s all I have to say.

itch.io/updates/update-on-ns… The gloves need to come off. Payment processors should not hold this much power ever.

I can't be the only one who feels Legends Z-A seems so fucking mid, right? Like, embarrassingly bad looking.
As expected from the region that brought us trainer customization, it looks like Pokémon Legends: Z-A is going to have the most comprehensive trainer customization yet. You can change your hairstyle, hair color, eyebrows, and more at salons. In addition to solid colors, you can further customize your hair with color blocking and balayage. You'll even be able to make changes to your character’s lip color, eyelashes, and other characteristics.

Keeping my expectations real, it's most likely gonna be mobile slop, Legends Z-A and probably a Gen 10 teaser. Can't see a gen 5 remake coming soon, can't see another major spin-off either. I'd love to see another Mystery Dungeon or Explorers remake, but not holding my breath
There is officially 3 days until the Next Pokémon Presents on July 22nd 2025. What do you expect to see in this presentation?

Not opposed to the content that was blocked. But I'm absolutely not a fan of payment processors being able to dictate what you can and cannot spend your money on. Seems like they need some regulation.

This is how you know you need to avoid it like the plague. Probably snitches absolutely fucking everything to the US government.
