after run #checkMesh, its useful to look at problem areas such as neg vol cells, high skew faces, non-orthogonal faces, face pyramid errors. This can be done by "foamToVTK -faceSet skewFaces" and "foamToVTK -faceSet nonOrthoFaces" which creates VTK files you load into #Paraview
Been developing a GUI for #blockMesh (using AI) which enables me to create a fully structured car mesh run in #simpleFoam. Disclaimer - this is the very first solution. Happy #simulationFriday folks!
something different... flow through an Ellis 3D wormhole. blockMesh created 2 separate spaces and there is flow between them via a spherical 'throat'. The velocity is relaxed and reversed from roomA to roomB and the pressure is just relaxed from roomB to roomA - codedFixedValue
quick demo of Ellis wormhole viewer done in Codex

Been doing some "work in advance of contract" on flare tip modelling in #OpenFoam - its an axisymmetric case, with a hot stream to represent the low density gas inlet, flowing over a 'coanda' surface and mixing with ambient air - also monitoring the the average outlet temperature
#BloodhoundSSC Mach 1.05 (OpenFoam) 1.6M cells, 30 minutes runtime on @dicehub 8 procs - geometry thingiverse.com/thing:534056
I created a free-slip (tangential flow) wall boundary condition for LBM, as an alternative to the 'bounce-back' method. The approach calculates the tangential component of velocity at cut-cells and then recomputes "fin" (the incoming populations) from the new tangential velocity.
#UFOLBM sports car model with free-slip wall boundary condition (thingiverse.com/thing:688425…). The mesh is 125 million cells, and ran on @runpod A40 GPU, 3 hours runtime, 100k iterations. The settings are Re=600,000 giving 10m/sec simulated speed for a reference length of 1 metre.
Typhoon geometry from thingiverse.com/thing:478598… at Mach 2 in #OpenFoam ran on @dicehub 8 procs, 2000 iterations, runtime 27 mins, mesh only 800k cells including layer mesh. Here showing isentropic Mach contours calculated from surface temperature. Ran in #OF12 "fluid" module.
