I did have a friend in the Army back in the mid-90s from NYC whose last name was Etienne. Tragically, he was killed the morning after Labor Day 1996 returning from home to Ft. Drum, NY, when a couple of guys dropped a cinder block off an overpass on I-81 north of Syracuse. I remember these guys (I believe were 19 and 21) only got 6 months for murder. 😔
