there is a large gap from "programming language types with conservative/simple syntax to cover 60-70% common" and "zomg exotic higher order type syntax that's turing complete and I ported Doom to it". why don't devs see the former is useful and the latter is mental illness?

I guess now is a good time to mention that I have patented the rsa key with value 5 so... don't go getting any cute ideas.

kinda like how every hacker and security researcher was doing the super trivial/obvious check of... "is the private key a simple small number like 4"?
Lo que más me da risa de Ready Player One es que planteen que el súper secreto para obtener la primera llave, que nadie había encontrado en AÑOS, sea ir en reversa en la carrera, porque me pongo a pensarlo y siento que es lo primero que habría hecho la gente

how many of the polls leading up to this midterm have been fabricated by AI?
JUST IN: U.S. polling firm Wedgewood Polls admits to completely fabricating election polling data ahead of the 2026 midterms.

reminder: 4 is no more or less of a random number (and thus no weaker or stronger) than any other 200 digit long number. those keys weren't found/exploited for nearly 1.5 years. suggests 4 was actually a pretty genius private key value. up until today, that is. never again.

I paid the tax when I bought the house/car. The local government artificially raises the value of my home every 5 years so they can gouge more tax out of me at gunpoint.

It is that this is tied to property value. The value of which can swing wildly. If you’ve done any retirement planning you don’t plan for your home doubling in value in 5 years (mine did) especaiily since a 600k home doesn’t consume 20% more resources than a $500k home.

either they don't understand the bible or they don't understand evolution... or both. but they're diametrically opposed and incompatible.
This is actually a pretty common belief among educated religious people

the bible makes it clear that before sin there was no death. sin = death. the bible also makes clear sin entered the world after creation, in the garden. evolution requires millions of years of... death... with favorable mutations surviving generation to generation.

the bible makes it clear God did not, and could not, use death as part of the creation process. evolution is fundamentally incompatible with how the boble says God works and set up creation.

let's make a different deal. you cap my property tax at some max that covers my portion of those shared services, and don't raise my fees because some fucking committee thinks my home is prettier and now guesses it's worth more.
Let’s make a deal Ray. You can stop paying property taxes and the city will stop picking up your trash, you don’t get to use public roads for free, and the police/fire department don’t have to show up if you call. Deal?

PLEASE FUCKING EXPLAIN WHY THE COST OF THOSE TOWN SERVICES ARBITRARYILY INCREASES BECAUSE PEOPLE MAKE THEIR HOMES PRETTIER AND VALUATIONS SPECULATIVELY RISE
YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES FOR THE PROPERTY, YOU'RE PAYING YOUR TOWN FOR THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES. THE ROADS, POLICE, SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, SNOW PLOWS, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND SO MUCH MORE.
