For progressive orgs making their #eXit today from this place, I hope to see you in the blue skies soon. For those in need of help with conscious uncoupling from here, monitor NN over there; we have some counsel in store.
It’s time for us to #eXit. Musk is using this platform and the reach it gives him to undermine our democracy. It’s time to stop helping him. We will see you where so many members of our community are now, on Bluesky! We’ll be posting #NN26 from bsky.app/profile/netrootsnat…

Spread your wings. Fly on over. 🐦
Friends — The world's richest man turned Twitter into a far-right propaganda machine and will continue to wield it as a cudgel against us. I'm more or less leaving here personally, and encourage others to do the same. I'm also trying to make it a bit easier to move to BS 🧵

One sign of how effective these efforts are—on the independent side, too—is that I live in a heavily Dem area of Philadelphia, with two other loyal Dems, and NO ONE has knocked on our door since the day the last of our three mail-in ballots was marked as received by @PhillyVotes.
A Harris campaign official in Pennsylvania says their volunteer team is averaging 2,000 door-knocks per minute across the state on Saturday as of 12:54 pm (Average during typical door-knocking hours)

Like, remember when Mitch McConnell argued that they *didn't* have to convict Trump in the Senate because he remains legally accountable for all he did as President? That, turns out, was a lie.

We wondered who Trump would name as his running mate, when his key handservant has stood here all along — wearing a black robe and hoisting Trump, alongside his party, as high above the law as he can.
Joke of a ruling. There is obviously no such thing as “presidential immunity” in the Constitution, and Roberts uses Air Bud logic to say otherwise. supremecourt.gov/opinions/23…

Look: no one whatsoever expects Biden to adopt Kendrick's voice. POTUS and his camp, though, would do well to cop a bit of his energy: "it ain't one-v-one, it's one-v-seven if I gotta fight judges that cape for you." xitter.cf/ggreeneva/status/18078…

How will Trump's policies make it easier for this guy to buy a house? He has no answer. (Literally - I asked.) It's just "Mortgage rates were low under Trump, and they're higher under Biden, therefore Trump will bring mortgage rates down." It's magical thinking.

When we put this book together in 2010-2011, we were dismissed by many U.S. liberals and libertarians as being overly alarmist and pessimistic. One group of cultural sociologists chided critiques such as ours for being too materialist in our gloomy analysis.
Going back through this again and finding it incredibly prescient 13 years on.

Wait, isn’t this the dude who groomed a high-school student, gave her a scholarship, and then married her? Lecturing about propriety and temptation? Degeneracy: it’s not just for the tip of the Republican hierarchy, folks.
So sorry I was slow responding to your email, I was tied up watching this over and over again

I spent years steeped in the details of Unite the Right leading the org that successfully sued those Nazis. I now lead a national Jewish org. I beg of you: don’t compare Charlottesville & Columbia. Both are vile, dangerous antisemitism. They’re not the same for many reasons.

This tweet is unconscionable. You are actually putting students lives in danger by dog whistling to the same reactionary fascists who murdered Heather Heyer. You should be ashamed of yourself.
I fully agree with the White House—these “protests” are antisemitic, unconscionable, and dangerous. Add some tiki torches and it’s Charlottesville for these Jewish students. To @Columbia President Minouche Shafik: do your job or resign so Columbia can find someone who will.

I'll repeat what I wrote then: this isn't just about doctors trying to treat women within the confines of the law. Anti-abortion groups are proactively *recommending* c-sections for life-threatening pregnancies because they want to divorce abortion from healthcare
