Where is the AI bubble? Answer: Right in front of you.
The two biggest names in AI are also the most overvalued. OpenAI and Anthropic plan to go public at a combined $3.4 trillion.
I’d be fine with this if the AI labs were bringing in hundreds of billions of dollars per year, but they’re not. Quite the reverse: they’re losing billions of dollars per year.
We don’t have an AI bubble — we have an AI startup bubble. I explain below.

ANTHROPIC'S SLOWING REVENUE GROWTH DOES NOT SIGNAL WEAKER AI DEMAND
D.A. Davidson analysts Gil Luria and Turner Dischinger say Anthropic's slowing revenue growth should not be interpreted as a broader AI demand slowdown.
They point to growing competition from OpenAI and open-weight AI models, as businesses diversify their AI spending.
The key takeaway: Overall AI investment remains on a strong upward trajectory, supporting continued demand for computing power and data center construction.

Elon Musk Spent $366M On The Midterms — Will It Work?
Ed Elson (@edels0n) is joined by Bradley Tusk to break down how Elon Musk is funding the midterms, whether that investment will pay off, and how he sees the elections playing out.
Then, Gil Luria joins to unpack the sell-off in chip stocks and what he makes of valuations in the sector.
Finally, Ed shares his take on Kimberly Guilfoyle’s resignation.

$ASML earnings were excellent for the AI trade, says D.A. Davison's @gilluria.
He points to commentary from the CEO that the company is struggling to meet demand as a bullish sign for the AI buildout.
As for the stock's downside trading action, Gil attributes it to "bad luck" on a day where CPI came in hot.
@StevenDickens3 calls ASML a "classic picks and shovels play" and says its lithography business offers plenty of strength for its outlook.
He sees hyperscaler earnings from $MSFT, $GOOGL, $META, and $AMZN as tech's next big test.

@gilluria, @DADavidsonCo head of tech research, explains why he just raised his price target on $MU to $3,000:

Gil Luria retweeted
$MU is up about 4% at $1,087, a roughly 7% reversal off its $1,011 low, on heavy volume. It traded down about 2.8% premarket after the union at its Taiwan plant voted 99% to authorize a strike. The bounce likely comes from D.A. Davidson raising its price target to $3,000 from $2,100.

$MU just got a DA Davidson price target raise to $3,000 from $2,100
After IR meetings, Gil Luria says investors are still early on Micron's value, and that 3-5 year growth path should force a far higher multiple
Looks like the memory trade is far from over!
$MU bears keep calling for the memory cycle to peak in 2027
Meanwhile, supply models show 2027 as the TIGHTEST memory market ever recorded w/ shortages running into 2029-30
This forecast says 5 straight years of undersupply (That's NEVER happened). Why would this time hold?
1. HBM consumes roughly 3x the wafers of standard DRAM per bit, so every AI GPU shipped eats capacity for everything else
2. The fabs are already sold out on long-term contracts into 2027
3. A new memory fab takes 4-5 years and $20B+ to build. The supply response to today's shortage doesn't arrive until the 2030s
UBS says shortage through at least 2027, memory upturn running to 2028+, and inventories at critical lows. Stack this with Citi's call of no down year in DRAM pricing through 2031 (quoted post) and the picture is consistent across the street: undersupply drives pricing, pricing drives profits
For Micron that means the earnings estimates, the $125B+ FCF forecasts, and the December buyback math are all built on a supply picture that keeps getting TIGHTER, not looser
Milk Road PRO members got the call to buy $MU below $400 and again at $700-$800 during the recent pullback. If you want to see what else we're buying in PRO you can see our real-time portfolios here: link.milkroad.com/t5837z

MICRON $MU PRICE TARGET RAISED TO STREET HIGH $3000 AT DA DAVIDSON
investing.com/news/stock-mar…
Gil Luria retweeted
WHY $MU COULD TRIPLE FROM HERE
The easiest way to understand the new Micron bull case is that D.A. Davidson is no longer treating this as a normal memory upcycle where investors should assume pricing eventually collapses and the stock deserves a permanently low multiple.
Their $3,000 target implies roughly 20x annualized Q1 earnings by my math versus around 7x today, so the thesis requires two things to happen together. Earnings need to stay much higher for much longer than the market expects, and investors eventually need to stop valuing Micron like a commodity business.
The reason that feels increasingly plausible is that management is still describing supply as tight through 2027 and 2028 while demand is coming from hyperscalers and AI leaders like $AMZN, $MSFT, $GOOGL, $NVDA and $AAPL which creates a much more durable customer base than the PC and handset driven cycles investors are used to underwriting.
The part I think is most interesting is the de speccing argument because what looks bearish at first can actually reinforce how constrained the market is. When customers reduce memory content inside a system, like $TSLA cutting AI5 to 72GB or $NVDA shipping a 64GB DGX Spark, they are not necessarily saying they need less memory long term.
They are often trying to ship more systems today with the limited memory they can secure. That can temporarily lower memory per device while expanding the installed base much faster, which then creates even more pressure to restore performance and increase memory content once supply becomes available.
The risk is that some optimization becomes permanent but if customers are sacrificing specifications simply to get more hardware into the field, that is usually evidence of scarcity rather than weakening demand.
The other structural change is Micron’s Strategic Customer Agreements because management is deliberately trading some peak pricing upside for a much higher floor. With roughly half of future supply increasingly covered by long term agreements, Micron gets better visibility into customer demand while still leaving enough open capacity to participate when spot pricing moves higher, which starts looking much more like yield management than the old memory model of producing first and hoping demand shows up later.
The fact that these agreements are backed by enormous customers and roughly $32B of mostly cash commitments makes the demand visibility harder to dismiss, while competitors adopting similar structures could make the entire industry less prone to the oversupply mistakes that historically destroyed memory pricing.
That is ultimately why I think a path toward $3,000 no longer sounds as crazy as the headline suggests because the stock does not need some absurd valuation if the earnings base itself proves more durable.
If Micron can keep compounding volume and pricing through 2028, HBM and conventional DRAM remain constrained, enterprise NAND keeps benefiting from AI workloads and the SCA structure raises the trough of the next cycle, then both earnings estimates and the multiple can move higher at the same time.
China remains a real competitive risk and long term agreements only prove their value when pricing finally softens, but the market is still largely pricing Micron as though today’s earnings are close to a peak while management and the supply data increasingly point toward a multi year shortage, and that gap between what the business may earn and how cheaply the market is valuing those earnings is where the triple from here can come from.

D.A. Davidson expects $MU to nearly triple to $3,000 saying “If you don’t buy it, they will” as memory stays tight through 2027 and 2028.
The interesting part is they see de-specing as bullish because customers cutting memory to ship more systems today can create even more demand later when they try to restore performance.
The note basically argues Micron will stop trading like a normal memory cycle and rerate toward ~20x earnings as long-term agreements spread across $AMZN, $MSFT, $GOOGL, $NVDA and $AAPL.
