Many Thoughts about their similarities, maybe i say more about it when i have more time.......
have not seen wildwood YET, but lrt discussion about letting younger kids watch more mature storytelling reminds me of how my favorite movie at 7 was princess mononoke LOL.. every kid is different but if they show interest in darker/more thoughtful stuff pls don't discourage it
i just think it would be tragic if for some reason i was barred from something i felt really soulfully connected to at a young age, if an adult decided for me that i couldn't handle it
Wildwood is one of the biggest examples of why I’m begging folks who make media for younger audiences to stop holding back on kids. Took my younger cousin (11) with me to see the film and he was extremely engaged, quietly commenting and theorizing throughout the film.
‘Big City Greens’ storyboard artist Gabi Rodea encourages parents to have their children see ‘Wildwood’ for its mature storytelling.
“Big studios like Disney and Paramount want to sanitize stories, effectively training children not to think about sadness or fear. Wildwood is for kids to be inspired by how they feel when they see a great movie.”

Never ever forget that Franziska von Karma had to be literally dragged to the hospital by her brother after being shot in the shoulder because she fully intended on attending court anyways #AceAttorney
