I've taken a quick minute to compile some information and have Claude build a handy diagram for us comparing the functionality of Ford and Tesla products. Both are great, but the Ford solution actually has a meaningful chance at a return on investment.
At @Ford, we want to make the best technology available to the many, not just the few. We want to make products that have great tech, while still being affordable. In 2027, our new electric truck, Ford Fathom, is going to show that it’s possible to deliver an incredible vehicle with incredible tech and incredible value. One technology I’m excited to announce is coming to Fathom is bidirectional power and the ability to use your vehicle to power your house. Our team of amazing engineers developed a better, more efficient and more affordable way to bring more than 10 kW of home power—without a separate wall-mounted inverter—to a truck with an MSRP below $30,000. Making the technology more accessible is one part of the work. We’re also working with utilities to make connecting these vehicles simpler and scalable. Thanks to American Electric Power, @bchydro, @ConsumersEnergy, @Exelon, and Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (@PGE4Me) for being among the first utilities to work with us. In the pursuit of accuracy, I spent a few hours today digging into DC fast charging efficiency. The EPA’s MPGe assumes you charge at home. So how much energy does a DC fast charge actually lose? Across 9 EVs: 6% to 13%. The spread was bigger than I expected... 🧵

I've seen chart crimes, I've seen chart felonies, but this is a violation of the chart Geneva Convention
Good chart from this week's The Real Economy @commonplc:

MAGA Record may be most “communist” in American history: 1. Govt ownership of 50+ companies - means of production. 2. Irrational tariffs - disruption of markets 3. Treasury Market pressures and interference 4. Russian-style oligarchical corruption
We will enter an age of abundance If we can stop the communists for the next 5 years

I've built out featured comparisons on EVBench. One of the first things I wanted to look at was the (lack of) charging performance difference for the Rivian R2 on a 500A vs 600A capable charger.

@RivianTrackr - does anyone care about this? The data says they shouldn't, but it was interesting to pull these together.

Him tweeting this unironically is hilarious.
Politics is incredibly tribal. Most of those in one tribe can see nothing their tribe does wrong or anything good done by another political tribe.

The geriatric state is a predatory tyranny that will utterly consume the young to provide luxury to the old. It is a terminal disease which is irreversible once it sets in because each passing year makes the demographics worse.

I really love elon's technology. That doesn't mean he should be above laws and standards. Pre-threatening retribution is, in elon's favorite response "concerning"

The billionaires can smell the end of Trump and are now socially positioning for 2028
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has endorsed California's potential new billionaire tax laws, even if it will cost him $8 billion. "I don't mind paying taxes. The more you make, the more taxes you pay. I'm okay with that. I am the ultimate American Dream."

Jensen Huang has publicly supported California's proposed billionaire tax since at least January 2026, consistent with his later comments, while most other billionaires have opposed it. forbes.com/sites/zacharyf… fortune.com/2026/10/20/as-…

My data suggests that the Subaru Uncharted Sport is actually a better roadtripper than the Rivian R2 and the Model Y Performance thanks to it's strong charging curve and impressive efficiency. I don't believe this to be completely accurate, but I think it's worth a look!

My favorite Republican campaign tradition is the biennial running of the migrants.
BREAKING: Another large migrant caravan is leaving Mexico’s southern border right now in an attempt to reach the United States. Some members of the caravan, which is mostly comprised of Central Americans, told me they are hopeful Democrats win the midterms.
