According to my information, not even three Bangladeshis were identified. You made 5 crore Kannadigas stand in the queue to identify three infiltrators or three Bangladeshis. This is just like how you made 100 crore Indians stand in queue during demonetisation and the note ban to identify black money. The EC has to come out clean and say how many infiltrators were identified, how many, particularly Bangladeshis or foreign nationals, were identified. This exercise was to put people through strain and tension, harass them, and make them stand in queues..."

Someone inform CJI that there are lakhs of Digital Arrest. In most cases, the victims are elderly people. Recently a former district judge was duped of Rs 2.50 crore by cyber fraudsters who posed as CBI officials and an RBI manager, They'd kept him under "digital arrest" for around 15 days.

I am sorry to say, Madam Finance Minister, this is utter nonsense.
Instead of lecturing us about the past, you must tell us what urgency led the government to sell such a major asset at 14% below the original reserve price at a time when:
1. India's stock market is one of the worst-performing of all 47 countries in the MSCI.
2. Foreign ownership of Indian equities is at an about a 15-year low.
3. The RBI is intervening heavily (tens of billions of dollars) to defend the rupee.
Why sell in this environment? What is the government not telling us? There is extensive literature on the need to assess market conditions in choosing the method and timing of privatization. Besides, what message does this send to investors for future strategic sales?
Deflecting from legitimate concerns about this truly astonishing deal is not acceptable to the people. The opposition has every right to ask you basic questions about our national assets.
We all know how @INCIndia has used Banks and financial institutions as personal entities and pressured bank employees to extend loans at their whim, bypassing prudent lending norms.
Let me list a few instances.
- In 1957, Haridas Mundra got money from LIC due to influence by the Congress leaders.
- In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle.
- Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti.
- B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s.
- Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses.
The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised.
The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth.
All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday.
