We also had a rare look at where Heydrich lived with his family and many Jewish prisoners were held as gardeners and cleaners from the nearby Concentration camp. #OperationAnthropoid

Then to the scene of the attack. The now famous hairpin bend in Prague where the 2 SOE trained Czech agents ambushed the SS Heydrich in his car. The bomb used was made and adapted by SOE at station XII near Stevenage. 3/4

We ended the morning at St Cyrils Church and crypt where the Nazis cornered the 7 Parachutists. A huge gunfight ensued and eventually those inside were all killed or committed suicide as the SS purposely flooded the crypt. 4/4

This is all thats left of Lidice village just outside Prague. Its residents rounded up, shot, gassed or sent to Camps, as retribution for the killing of SS commander Heydrich in 1942. The barbarity and utterly evil acts are shocking. A profoundly moving visit with @guywalters
