Let’s see… there isn’t a racetrack in Baltimore today. Zero. There’s no track in Maryland capable of hosting a real Preakness Stakes. Belinda ran it into the ground. The State is in no hurry to fix. So, Bill Finley (a total joke) & others blame CDI & NYRA for making changes? Ugh

In light of the news of the @PreaknessStakes not being included in this NYRA/CDI super series for 3yo’s, is it safe to say that sadly, the Triple Crown is dust in the wind? TV contracts will be interesting to say the least! What a rug pull for Maryland, as well as NJ and PA! 🤔
ALERT: .@TheNYRA and @ChurchillDowns will launch a championship series next year for 3-year-olds. The series includes the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes but does not include the Preakness Stakes. go.bloodhorse.com/3RHLaSQ #TC2026

Yesterday one of the Evil Empire’s henchmen tried to take a shot at my credibility.
90% of this industry saw right through it.
But here’s what they didn’t expect…the truth hits a lot harder than their little sponsored posts.
Let’s talk about caring for the breed.
For 15 years, the @JockeyClub has given just $23 million to aftercare.
$23 million.
In the same breath, they spend more on executive compensation and more on America’s Best Racing than they do making sure retired Thoroughbreds are safe for life.
That alone should make every single person in this sport sick.
But here’s the part that really tests your moral compass.
In 2013, a horse named Orb won the Kentucky Derby.
Bred by the Janney/Phipps family.
Owned by the Janney/Phipps family.
Two families worth Billions.
For 40 years, the Chairman of the Jockey Club was either a Phipps or a Janney.
Think about that moment.
Winning the most prestigious race in the world with a homebred.
The joy.
The pride.
The tears.
Orb goes on to stud. He doesn’t become a commercial superstar.
It happens. This is a hard game.
Now imagine you have an 11-year-old Kentucky Derby winner who didn’t pan out as a stallion.
What would you do???
If I’m ever blessed enough to win a Derby…
That horse isn’t going anywhere.
He’d be in my backyard.
I’d feed him carrots and mints every morning, probably before I kiss my wife and daughter.
Because that horse changed your life.
But what did the leadership of the Jockey Club do???
They sold their Kentucky Derby winner to Uruguay for $50,000.
Fifty thousand dollars.
That’s what the sport’s most sacred trophy horse was worth to them when he stopped generating revenue.
When the leadership of the Jockey Club tells you they “care about the breed”…
When they tell you they’re “committed to the future of the Thoroughbred”…
Remember this:
When their Derby winner had no residual value, they shipped him to South America for pennies.
This isn’t about business.
This is about values.
You don’t get to lecture the industry about stewardship while treating a Derby winner like excess inventory.
If this doesn’t bother you, if this doesn’t hit your heart, then maybe you don’t love these horses the way you say you do.
This sport is built on emotion.
On loyalty.
On gratitude.
On doing right by the animal that makes all of this possible.
You can’t preach legacy and practice liquidation.
That’s the difference between gratitude
and greed. ❤️🙏
How do you feel???

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the passing of Afleet Alex, a champion, a dual Classic winner, and a horse who captured the hearts of racing fans around the world.
From his unforgettable triumph in the 2005 Preakness Stakes, a race that showcased his courage, determination, and will to win; to a championship Belmont Stakes performance that secured his Eclipse Award, Afleet Alex defined brilliance on the racetrack and excellence beyond it.
Retired to Gainesway in 2006, Afleet Alex became a cornerstone of our stallion roster and later a cherished pensioner, greeting visitors from the same barn and paddock he called home throughout his career. Whether welcoming fans, accepting carrots, or quietly meeting the next generation, he remained every bit the horse people fell in love with.
Beyond the racetrack, his partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation helped raise millions of dollars and national awareness for childhood cancer research, extending his impact far beyond the sport.
Afleet Alex will be deeply missed by all of us who were fortunate to know him. We take comfort in the lasting legacy he leaves behind through his accomplishments, his influence on the breed, and the countless lives he touched along the way. He will be laid to rest at Gainesway.
We thank his owners, breeders, connections, and devoted fans for honoring and loving a truly special horse. #AfleetAlex

If "Hollywood is cooked" then so is everyone peddling/making these kinds of AI videos. The natural sales funnel for something like this doesn't sustain itself with just "creators", especially when they are self cannibalizing their own skills. It's going to cut right to the end user. A monthly subscriber will type a prompt on their Disney Plus app "Action comedy, where Tom Cruise plays Iron Man and Sydney Sweeney is Black Widow"-- and they will get a full garbage movie on-demand that they can click play and watch after a five minute wait. And it's even more bleak than that. Because no one else will watch it. There will be no cultural conversation about it, no event, no interest, because everyone else who is lacking in taste will be making their own on demand nonsense. This is why it's very foolish for self-professed filmmakers to align themselves w this current marketing push from AI companies. They'll go down with the ship they are hitching a ride to, all while burning bridges with fellow creatives whose careers they ruined

There's some things I can't let go, and what happened at Delta Downs last night could've been avoided. Play The Trumpet broke down last night in his first start for Cano, while still on the vets list in Kentucky with David Jacobson. How do we continue to give these people stalls?

I’ve always thought that was a setup. They both look healthy his wife sticks by him, there was a step mother of dubious character as well who nascar probably got to make claim$

Sad and disappointing to find out that she was imported off a G1 effort in Germany by Team Valor and Graham Motion. After four disappointing efforts she shows up after a 10 month layoff at Mountaineer owned and trained by Burton Sipp. This sport is irreparably broken.
