Broke, abandoned, leaderless?
After today's lunchtime talk, my answer is that the #UN is under severe strain, but not doomed ๐บ๐ณ

The #US disengagement under #Trump II is unprecedented โ but it remains selective. Productive cooperation, even with the US, remains possible in some areas โ and the majority of members continue to generally support the #UN.

As an intergov' organisation, #leadership must ultimately stem from #memberstates.
#Europe should engage and offer its vision for the UNโs future, backed by resources!

Back at @LMU_Muenchen #LMU after more than a year of enlightening exchanges and research at @EUI_EU #EUI in Florence.
Kicked off teaching with excellent groups of students, from a Bachelor's IR intro to an applied research Masterโs class โ and a lot of plans for the semesterโฆ

2) A joint panel discussion with @ronpatz #IDOS on "Taking stock of UNGA81", where we will look back at #UNGA81, the UNโs budget crisis, #UN80, and Europeโs engagement for #multilateralism at the @GSI_Muenchen!
