⭕️ THIS INTERVIEW IS STUNNING!!! For three years, Netanyahu’s opponents in Israel have claimed that he deliberately blocked hostage deals, prolonged the war for political reasons, and even bore responsibility for hostages dying in captivity.
Now listen to Brett McGurk—Biden's own senior Middle East adviser and one of the officials actually inside the negotiations.
McGurk says Israel accepted the May 2024 deal. Hamas did not.
He says the November 2023 deal collapsed because Hamas refused to release the remaining younger women.
He says there was no realistic way to end the war without a hostage agreement—and repeatedly describes Hamas introducing new demands and delaying agreements.
And Netanyahu’s central argument throughout the war was that military pressure on Hamas was necessary to produce a hostage deal.
Whatever criticism people want to make of Netanyahu, the simplistic narrative that “there was a deal, Netanyahu rejected it and chose war instead” is contradicted by the Biden official who was actually sitting at the negotiating table.
The October 7 tragedy and the hostages deserved facts—not political narratives.
⭕️ 🧵BRETT McGURK SHATTERS SOME OF THE BIGGEST MYTHS ABOUT THE HOSTAGE NEGOTIATIONS WITH HAMAS
Brett McGurk — one of the Biden administration officials most deeply involved in the Gaza hostage negotiations — sat down with Dan Senor and gave a remarkably detailed account of what was actually happening behind closed doors.
That matters because McGurk was hardly speaking for an administration that always agreed with Israel. The Biden administration publicly clashed with Netanyahu over Rafah and selectively withheld certain heavy munitions. McGurk now says that some of that public American pressure actually hurt the hostage negotiations by giving Sinwar reason to believe a major U.S.-Israel rupture might be coming.
His account challenges several narratives that became conventional wisdom during the war:

Worse than Hamas propaganda. I have now seen the documentary NAZA in its entirety, and it is worse than I imagined. Over three years, I’ve tried not to be surprised by ignorance, disinformation, and distortions relating to war, but this is at the top for many reasons.
I will write a detailed analysis soon, but one of the worst, a massive claim displayed in the middle of the film, in bright yellow against a black screen: “Israel has killed more than 73,000 Palestinians in Gaza.”
Not even Hamas says this. Meaning not even Hamas claims Israel has killed every Palestinian that has died in Gaza since October 7th. Hamas has publicly killed Palestinians to maintain power in the Gaza. There have been battles between Hamas and anti-Hamas clans. Up to 20% of the 12,000 Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rockets fired at Israel fell inside Gaza. Recent Hamas reporting shows natural deaths on their list. To say every person that died in Gaza was killed by Israel is a vulgar lie.
There are a lot of other lies, lies by omission, and lies of ignorance in NAZA, but this claim is unique and follows the lies, damned lies, and statistics for accusations that go against the actual number put out by Hamas or reality.
More to follow on Naza.

The prevailing view of so much of the young left in America is that we’re the worst country ever, so if someone attacks us, they can’t be all bad.

There's a small window in life when your parents are healthy, your children are little, and everyone is happy and together. It feels like it will last forever, it won’t. Cherish every moment of it.
People with the moral compass are a rare commodity. I loved @BoyGeorge many years ago when he was the lead singer of culture club. Still do.
In Buddhism we understand that every action comes with a consequence. Due to my decision to stand up for my Jewish friends I am losing a few people from my life. Today I parted company with Tony Pontius who has run my record label BGP for a number of years. I wanted to release 'We Will Dance Again' but he was unequivocal and said 'I want nothing to do with this song' and I responded 'ok, we are done'.
When someone is gutless it really does not hurt to say goodbye. My faith in humanity will not diminish and the truth will always win.
I will release it!

A violent extremist stabbed a Jewish New Yorker and an Asian New Yorker while shouting “Allahu Akbar.”
The attacks serve as a bloody reminder that we are living in an age of heightened hatred and antisemitism, with hate crimes against the Jewish community reaching levels rarely seen before.
Instead of combating antisemitism, American politics has become increasingly consumed by an unrelenting campaign of demonization directed at the Jewish people and the Jewish state.
Enough is enough.

Brilliant @douglaskmurray column ridiculing the NYT:
"Nicholas Kristof raped my dog. At least that is what I have heard, from an anonymous source. A source who is intensely hostile to the New York Times columnist. And that’s good enough for me. Now I come to think of it, my pet pug has had a strange look on his face lately."
The New York Times feeds anti-Jew hatred with a horrific lie. @nypost nypost.com/2026/05/14/opinio…

This fawning celebrity profile of antisemitic bomb-thrower Francesca Albanese manages to ignore all the ways she's sabotaging the UN's mission of peace, from trying to debank Americans to eliminating their jobs, all just for doing business with Israel. She even calls Israel a “threat to humanity.” This happens under a UN banner that Americans fund — so we sanctioned her for doing us harm.
POLITICO's @DaniellaCheslow and @KarlMathieson (who just deleted his account for antisemitic tweets) unethically reached out at the last possible second and claimed they were just doing a story about the sanctions.
Why is POLITICO running cover for this anti-American, anti-Semitic zealot?
