IT'S TIME TO BUILD
Legendary call to arms by @pmarca. This should stir the heart of every founder. We are in this situation because we didn't build enough, we couldn't build fast enough, we didn't value building enough.
We get out of this by building.

Found the kid playing with her dog instead of Zooming with her teacher. She told me not to worry. She took a screenshot of herself “paying attention,” then cut her video & replaced it with the picture. “It’s a gallery view of 20 kids, mom. They can’t tell.” She is 10. #COVID19

Today we celebrate Texas Independence Day.
On this date a Republic was born in the midst of seemingly insurmountable challenges.
True Texas grit helped our founders prevail and has inspired generations of Texans ever since.
May God forever bless the great state of Texas.

Sometimes I remember my life by the coffees I drank. The Chock full ‘nuts years, the Cuban coffee summer,
the carefully-ground-at-home coffee, the gallons of 7/11 coffee drunk late, late at night on Virginia highways...
All great coffees- I salute you!

Lots of savage discussion on line about Tamara Ecclestone’s lifestyle, wealth & robbery. But one good lesson served here again is to stop advertising your travels on social media. It just gives bad guys too much information. Post when you get home. #persec #opsec #travelsecurity

The PG&E power shutdown feels like the next step in the Bay Area’s civilizational regression.
Appears due to liability concerns after last year’s Paradise fire.
Rather than improving tech, accepting it was an accident, or some other option…shut down power for 800k people.

If you think you are having a bad week, consider that SoftBank Vision Fund’s two largest investments (Uber and WeWork) are both underwater.
At cost they were $18.4B ($7.7B and $10.7B). And they are ~50% levered.
They are going to need an incredible deal to dig out of that hole.

Dear Twitter: If you care about your account, get a Google Voice # to replace your mobile # in Twitter settings. Uncheck SMS. Then use only either mobile app or even better a security key for 2-factor authentication. Do this for every other account you care about that you can.

Amen. People often forget about IAM because it is an “old” problem, but it remains fundamentally important.. and hard to get right.

End of an era...it could of been the cross-platform leader if we'd been more courageous. Important lesson here. amazon.com/dp/1250096065/ref…

Rewatching The Wire as a local beat cop on patrol after first watching it as an agency case officer overseas is such a cool experience. This show nails the little things cuz there are no little things.

Go figure...#Texas is the ONLY state that doesn’t allow #BeerToGo! With a compromise that doesn’t change how much a brewery can sell only how they can sell it, who can be against the independence and entrepreneurial sprit of our #TxCraftBrewers? #txlege #FixTexasBeerLaws
