Today is the St. Day of Mesrop Mashtots & the Holy Translators, who developed the alphabet and translated and created the 1st great works of Armenian literature when the nation was on the brink of ruin. They knew that language and literature were keys to independence.
In honor of Holy Translators Day, we present to you Artsakhtsi poet, Vazgen Ovian’s (1932-1987), “The legend of the mountains,” in its original Armenian, and an English translation, along with an audio recitation in both languages.
