Lefties: “Elon Musk should be in prison!”
Normies: “For what?”
Lefties: “We’re not sure but we’ll find something! Vote for us and we’ll show you.”
Normies: “You are insane.”
Lefties: “Elon is a fascist. We’re anti-fascist. You must also be a fascist.”

An idea whose time has come…

Prosperity and peace are imminently attainable for everyone in this country. We need merely to transcend the parties that keep us fighting each other, throw off the corporate and foreign influence on our government, and return to the principles laid out in our Constitution.

President Trump just signed an executive order to make homes more affordable.
The good, the bad, and whether it will actually work.

For too long, conservative-oriented people in America have defended unquestioned dogmas inherited from the wars of Wilson, FDR, Truman, and LBJ.
Unconditional surrender is a very new idea. It’s a WWII construct that belongs to the Progressive Era, the century of total war and the total democratic state. The concept was first used at Casablanca in 1943, and the war still required a deal with Stalin, resulting in the Soviets in control of Europe for the rest of the century.
It is not traditional either. In the Christian west, wars have generally ended in deals since Westphalia. It is not conservative in the American nor European sense. FDR, Churchill, and Stalin are its champions. Yet so-called right-wingers repeat it ad nauseum today in America. But Romney is flat-out wrong here: George Washington did make a deal to end the American Revolution called the Treaty of Paris.
The doctrine does not really work either, because our resources are finite, and so is our power. We reached the “end of history,” and then our politicians squandered all of our soft power over the next three decades. Jefferson knew this: “I hope our wisdom will grow with our power, and teach us, that the less we use our power, the greater it will be.”

100 years of the same fix. Every new problem gets the same answer: bigger government.
So what if we tried the Calvin Coolidge thing? Roll back the size, scope, and power of the federal government for a little while and see how it works.
Would you try it?

> #DraftMassie for President
> Use the campaign to amplify issue coalitions and elect 3-5 America First candidates in the House
> Deny the two major parties a majority of the Electoral College
> Use the 3-5 members of the House to exert leverage on the outcome for the Speaker of the House and maybe even the President and Vice President in a contested election on January 6, 2029
> Solidify an America First 3rd party in America
If Massie were to run for president as a 3rd party, he’d clear 5% trigger federal matching funds and in so doing create a durable new lane in politics, if he got 10% (very doable) that party would legally become a major party.
In the course of getting that 5%+, he’d build an email list of millions and assemble a new donor class.
Could you then from that dataset find 4-5 guys in purple, winnable districts to elect to the house as a wedge that can shut the whole congress down if they dont give us peace and address spending and the debt?
Could you arrange that party in such a way that it could endorse Rs when that makes sense, endorse Ds if that ever makes sense, or run its own people and thus weaponize its ballot presence into torqueable leverage?
I think not only can it be done, but I think it is far more likely to happen and with less effort and money than winning a primary dominated by out of touch boomers and where the coalition that would be assembled in the general is constrained out of the process.

For 70 years in most of America, you could own a half acre and still be legally barred from putting a small second home on it. Not because it was unsafe. Because the code said one house per lot .
Utah just ended that. Since October 1, if your lot is over 11,000 square feet, a backyard home is a permitted use. No hearing, no neighbor veto, no conditional use permit.
Orem spent last night rewriting its definitions to match.
That’s what winning looks like. No program, no subsidy. A state just stopped cities from saying no.
Every state could do this tomorrow.

A recession is necessary. Here's our case.
Think of it as a hangover. As a country, we keep reaching the morning after, and instead of sobering up, we pour another drink. We did it in 2001, 2008, and 2020. Getting healthy means cutting spending instead of adding more.
In housing, that means letting people build single-family homes, duplexes, triplexes, townhomes, and apartments over shops, without a planning commission, a zoning board, or a neighbor holding a veto.
Homes get affordable when people are allowed to build them.

Socialists are masters of the no-true-Scotsman fallacy: they define socialism as "when the government does a thing I like motivated by concern for poor people" and "capitalism" as "anything in the status quo, regardless of how it came about, that I don't like."
