“Community means a lot. When I was younger, there were players before me that used to give back…I probably wouldn’t be here without them, and it means a lot. You never know who you’re touching, you never know who you’re giving back to, you never know who looks up to you, so I think those aspects mean a lot to me.”
We partnered with our friends at @AnthemBCBS and the Atlanta Dream to give back to the Indianapolis & Atlanta communities, carrying forward the impact that others made on us 🫶

💛🤍🧡As International Youth Chair for @PediatricCancer … today we share an important reminder that April 3rd marks the day for bringing awareness to pediatric cancer.
Though 4/3 is when the 43 Campaign begins, for the families affected it continues around the clock, because on average … 43 precious children are diagnosed with cancer every single day.
In honor of these brave children and their families, we encourage everyone to get involved:
• Visit nationalpcf.org to learn how you can help
• Give in increments of 43… $4.30, $43.00, $430.00, or whatever amount you are able
Today we prayed with our grandchildren for the 43 children and their families who receive this difficult news each day.
We also made a healthy snack high in antioxidants! Blueberries, strawberries, bananas, oranges … and homemade whipped cream using heavy cream and maple syrup in place of refined sugar. We started decorating with 43 blueberries before enjoying our snack together!
These small, loving moments remind us how important it is to support these precious children and their families.
Please join us by posting your own 43 activity (43 jumping jacks, a 4.3 mile walk or ride, baking 43 cookies, etc.) and share it with #NPCF to help spread awareness. 💛🤍🧡

There’s a verse in the Bible that genuinely scares me—and it should make all of us stop and think.

Adding your name to a memorial already named in honor of a great man doesn’t make you a great man. Quite the contrary. Putting your name on top of someone else’s doesn’t mean that people will speak of you in the same breath as the other man. Putting your name above another man’s name on his existing memorial… What is that about? Truly? What’s that about? Do you want people to speak the names as one? Dig down deep. What are you trying to say? I’m really interested. There is no other president who would do this. None. Zero. In fact, it’s not even legal. Congress named the performing arts center as a living memorial in 1964, and only congress can change that law.
This will always be the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Art. A great man would have said to his hand picked board, “Thank you, but the building already has its name. Let it stand. Let it be. I don’t need that.” But then again…

Eternally grateful to God and to USCG Master Chief Lawrence David Nettles who we know as our hero, “Noodles”. 18 years ago this month, this courageous man risked his life to rescue and save the life of my husband.
Noodles is celebrating 30 years in the USCG and counting. Deepest gratitude to Noodles, the USCG in its entirety, his family, and all who serve our country.
