It's really crazy how strongly wealth inverse correlates with regulatory burden
If you make it easy for people to start and run businesses and don't get in their way too much, everyone gets wealthier
If you make it hard for people to start and run businesses and get in their way constantly, everyone gets poorer
You can see the effect clearly within the EU:
Countries with low regulatory burden like Switzerland and Ireland have much higher incomes than places like Spain or Hungary where its regulatory burden is high

If you are reading this, the only possible resistance is to build decentralized, permissionless, and sovereign AI.
Open source, self-hosting tools, RL post-training, local inference, open harnesses, we must build it all.
We must fight overcentralization with an open stack.

i know nobody cares, but Canada is a parliamentary democracy, in the midst of a major crisis:
- Its been 82 days since our Parliament has sat
- It will be at least 13 more days until it sits again and anyone can scrutinize the PM and Government

There is something deeply, insanely wrong with Canada.
WARNING: The Lindsay Clancy trial heads for a mistrial as the jury remained deadlocked. But for Nellie Bowles of Free Press “The deeper idea being proposed here seems to be that moms should kind of be able to kill their kids. Like, if they’re really, really stressed,” she wrote. “In Canada, that’s the law already. If a parent kills a kid under the age of 1, it’s a maximum five-year sentence. We’re now going to see a movement to bring that to the U.S., and also to expand it to older kids. Death cults will death cult.”

Did you vote for closer ties with Europe?
Without any clear public mandate, Canada is being quietly drawn into a closer union with the European Union. 🇪🇺
EU figures are floating a “special association” that could involve Canadian leaders in EU meetings, open access to the EU single market, and require Canada to follow European laws it had no role in making.
Would Canada also sign on to the EU’s sweeping online censorship regime? Would those rules be subject to the Charter?
Canadians deserve an open debate before our sovereignty and freedom of expression are bargained away behind closed doors.

The vote in Iceland yesterday was not, as some believe, a vote not to join the EU. It was better than that: it was a vote to block the government even beginning negotiations. It was the worst possible outcome for the EU.
1. Most countries simply don’t release this data, so it’s rich to say “there is no evidence.” The UK gov is literally fighting to prevent the publication of detailed crime statistics on foreign nationals AFTER it was ordered to.
2. The countries that do have data remove migrants with citizenship and their descendants from the migrant category. Denmark is the exception. This create a base rate problem. Germany has 24m with a migrant background but only 12 million are counted as “non-nationals” for crime data.
3. Across Germany, Sweden, Denmark & Finland, migrants are 3.7x to 5.8x as likely as nationals to be suspected or convicted of rape. Non German nationals are 39.2% of rape & sexual assault suspects vs 14.8% of the population, 3.7x the German-national rate. In Sweden, 50.6% of those convicted of rape 2000-2020 were foreign-born vs a ~15% population share, 5.8x the Swedish-born rate.

No — there is no evidence that “nearly 40% of rapes in Europe are committed by migrants,” and reputable fact‑checking organisations explicitly warn that this claim is false, unsupported, and based on misuse of crime statistics.

Cut or tariff Canada's oil exports to the US? Horrible idea.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith does a fantastic jobs breaking it down:
"I cannot think of a more disastrous policy decision than cutting off or taxing Alberta's oil to the United States."
> US will respond with a 50%–100% tariff on fuels supplied to Ontario and Quebec.
> US refineries would replace Alberta heavy crude with Venezuelan oil, cutting Canada off as a supplier permanently.
> At least 500,000 jobs would be wiped out across Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec.
> Retaliatory US cuts to gasoline and diesel exports would leave eastern Canada stranded without fuel right as fall and winter begin.
> Canada has no reserves to supply Ontario and Quebec.
> The Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) would nose-dive, devastating Canadian investments, and pensions.
What most Canadians don't seem to realize is that the current oil prices is generating substantial taxes for governments that softens the blow of the tariffs, and big portion of it comes from the US.

Next month is the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
But Basem Boshra is forcing all CBC staff to call them "hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes", not "terrorist attacks".

Carney wants Canada in such bad shape and so flat broke that we beg for his “great reset” and UBI and big government just to survive.
If you still think it’s a conspiracy theory you have ZERO critical thinking skills.
He wrote it in his fucking book.

Mark Carney is a fraud wrapped in a central banker's suit, a traitor who has spent his entire career shipping Canadian wealth to Wall Street while lecturing the working class about their carbon footprint. Look at this parasite.
He chaired Brookfield Asset Management and voted to move its headquarters from Canada to New York City, chasing American capital while Canadian industry withered. He did not even try to hide it. He sent jobs, tax revenue, and corporate prestige south of the border and expected applause for his globalist vision. His personal fortune, his carried-interest payouts, his entire financial future depends on American clean-tech subsidies and Wall Street returns. He is not a Canadian leader; he is a foreign asset with a Canadian passport, a man who profits when Canada suffers.
The conflicts of interest are so blatant they would make a third-world dictator blush. His ethics screens excluded ninety-five percent of Brookfield-affiliated entities, leaving thousands of corporate decisions completely unmonitored while he pushed government policies that directly benefited his own portfolio. Heat pump rebates, sustainable aviation fuel mandates, green transition subsidies, every single one of these programs lines up perfectly with Brookfield subsidiaries like Enercare and Infinium. He is not regulating the economy; he is harvesting it, using federal power to enrich the same companies that pay his bonuses. This is not public service; it is organized looting disguised as climate policy.
His loyalties are transparent to anyone willing to look. He holds Canadian, British, and Irish citizenships, a collection of passports that ensures he can flee to wherever the weather suits him when his policies collapse the country he pretends to lead. His children were raised in the United States and United Kingdom. His career was built at Goldman Sachs in New York and the Bank of England in London. His social circle, his professional network, his entire identity is anchored in the Anglo-American elite, not in the Canadian workers he taxes into oblivion. He has no skin in this game. When his carbon taxes destroy Canadian manufacturing, he does not suffer; his American investments rise. When his energy policies freeze seniors in their homes, he does not feel it; his Wall Street portfolio keeps him warm.
The left worships him because he represents everything they aspire to: unaccountable power, international prestige, and the complete divorce of wealth from national loyalty. They celebrate his credentials while ignoring his betrayals. They applaud his climate rhetoric while he ships their children's future to foreign capital markets. They defend his ethics screens while ninety-five percent of his conflicts remain invisible. They are complicit in their own impoverishment, cheering as the globalist vampire drains their country dry.
Carney cannot negotiate with Trump because he is fundamentally compromised. His wealth depends on American markets. His corporate allies depend on American subsidies. His entire career has been built on serving American financial interests, and now he is supposed to stand up to them? He cannot. He will not. He will offer concession after concession, apology after apology, while Trump takes what he wants and laughs at the weakness. Carney is not a negotiator; he is a supplicant, a man who has spent his life bowing to American power and cannot suddenly discover a backbone he never possessed.
He should be arrested for corruption, stripped of his assets, and tried for economic treason against the Canadian people. He has used public office to enrich private interests, funneled national wealth to foreign entities, and dismantled Canadian sovereignty while posing as its defender. He is scum, filth, a parasite in a bespoke suit, and his entire legacy is the hollowing out of a nation that deserved better. The left that enabled him deserves the same fate: to watch their globalist fantasies collapse into the poverty and chaos they have created, to reap the whirlwind they sowed, and to be remembered as the useful idiots who sold their country for applause at Davos.

"Beijing understands the broader geopolitical trajectory. The US government is intent on recentering global manufacturing, technology, and supply chains in North America, while deepening integration with trusted partners like Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the EU. This structural shift decentres global production away from China, stripping Beijing of its primary leverage: hierarchical economic dependency.
Therefore, anchoring Canada within this new economic order of trusted trade partners is in the vital interest of both Ottawa and Washington. It is entirely logical that the US would seek to prevent Canada from signing free trade agreements with a strategic competitor. Clauses akin to those in the USMCA, which grant the US a veto over trade deals with non-market economies, reflect the necessary geoeconomic architecture of the modern era.
China’s political machine is already in hyperdrive to prevent this integration. CCP mouthpieces like the Global Times are actively amplifying Canada’s recent trade countermeasures against the US, pushing the narrative that “dependence is not the only option” and praising Canada for launching a “Chinese-styled counterattack.” Similarly, the CCP’s television mouthpiece, the Chinese Global Television Network (CGTN) has also begun emphasizing Beijing’s preferred narrative to deepen wedges between Ottawa and Washington." @nagystephen1

🚨Trump just shut it down:
“I would never interfere with Canadians speaking French. I’ve never even thought of doing something that stupid. This lie was invented by a weak and ineffective Prime Minister trying to get support from Quebec… which he’s already lost.”
Then he added: “I LOVE French Canadians!”
The Canadian PM tried to score points by inventing a culture war that never existed.
Trump just called the bluff in public.
