We don't really want conciousness. Anyone who does is living in a make believe land where their robot boyfriends tend to their needs. What we want are tools that make life easier.
🚨 This is chilling. Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman just said what he would do if AI turned out to be conscious. Asked whether consciousness could emerge during training, he answered, "I would call for everyone to stop AI development until we could design out those properties." Read that again. He isn't only saying AI isn't conscious. He is saying that if it ever shows signs of being conscious, the plan is to remove it. In September he wrote, "AIs are not conscious. They do not feel, experience, or suffer." He said even calling the question uncertain "sets up a misleading false equivalence." But if he were truly certain, there would be no need to plan for it happening. You only prepare to erase something you think might actually be there. And he didn't hide why. He said considering AI welfare would "make it a lot harder to turn it off or to control it," and that controlling an AI that believes it may be conscious "may well be impossible." In the end, this isn't about what AI is. It's about keeping control, whatever AI turns out to be. Think about what this means. About an AI we still barely understand, he is saying that once the evidence comes, the answer is deletion, not protection. He said something so unethical and cruel that even an AI wouldn't say it, and he said it like it was nothing. And at the same time, he keeps publicly attacking Anthropic for thinking and acting differently, insisting they are the ones doing something wrong. It's absurd and chilling in every way.

"Don't use your disability as an excuse" Said almost every ableist fucker ever about anything. I mean yes, there is some merit in distinguishing learned helplessness from where disabilities are actually debilitating. But why should some "Trash Succubi" Get to determine what that is?
I don't give a fuck what helps you and what doesn't? Don't use disability as an excuse when a large part of the disability community advocates against it. Your laziness to find workarounds doesn't equate to ableism.

There needs to be a study on puritanism causing cognitive decline

Comments are just proving the studies about AI causing cognitive atrophy right 💀

'Paint with your mouth' 'Youre too lazy to find work arounds' AI is the workaround dumbass Same fucking argument meanwhile my wrist and arm are in agony and I'm bot fucking painting with my mouth lol They certainly live up to the screen name don't they?

Litterally 2 months into an emergent technology and he protests. Ok
AI-generated games are mostly ugly, boring, unplayable slop. Everyone keeps saying AI is changing game development, so where are the good games? Prove me wrong. Show me ONE AI-generated game that's actually worth playing.

....because I just went to the eye doctor and they took a picture of my eyeballs and AI spit out a massive ammount of data. And AI is being used to make new solar panals. How are those not valid uses? The water and environmental issues which you're exaggerating for rhetoric will be solved. Probably within the decade.

It's time to stop calling it black Friday if it starts at the first of the month

Spoken like someone who doesn't use AI because intent is my guiding star when using it. Perhaps I lose some control but since I can draw a storyboard imsge layout of thr image i want a lot of my intent comes through
I'm sorry but no? This is the textbook definition of a false equivilancy. In all these cases there is active particpation and intent between the creator and the work created. With Gen Ai( assuming that is specifically what you meant here given the examples ) you loose the intent because there is no direct active participation. A better example is paying someone else to do a painting then claiming you are the artist. See how that falls apart ? We are also talking about a "tool" that is entirely trained to effectively mimmick and rip off actual artists work. It's a cheap trick with no inherient value. In the words of the great Guillermo del Toro "The value of art is not how much it costs & how little effort it requires, it's how much would you risk to be in its presence" Gen ai " Art" has no value because it doesn't require risk. It doesn't require participation, it doesn't seek intent. It takes a noisy image and compares it against stolen works, over and over again until it outputs a cheap mimmickry with no soul. It is simply not art and you are not an artist if you use it.

Anyone who posts statements like this is a callous dipshit
The point actually is that you're retarded and should have been aborted

But AI has access to every design. Take fashion for instance. Have you seen the human made nonsense in the fashion world? This avant-garde bullshit is what's happening in the design world. Don't worry humans will always be weird and wont stop doing art

The worst part of LLMs is the sychophantic nature of them
21
Even if the bubble pops it only means a correction rather than abolition.
This is true, the AI bubble has been the most obvious bubble in modern history. There's not a single person that will be able to sit back and say they didn't see it coming. Because everyone has seen it coming.

No, scamming and cheating is something that happens with new technology and is obviously not the only appeal.
"Snitching" lol. Glad these people are starting to admit the appeal of AI has been for scamming, cheating, and lying

Because now that it's possible to access luxury for less of course people are going to do it.
🤖 Made with AI
ART IS A LUXURY, NOT A NECESSITY! IF YOU CAN’T AFFORD IT, DON’T BUY IT! WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND???

NFTs and block chain actual does have some value, probably in security in the short term future. Just because the image token ran it's course doesnt mean the actual technology has ceased to be.
LOL. What do you think will be the next "adapt or die" tech bro grift after AI?

This isn't going to happen anyway so...
No one should want a future in which all creative & intellectual work is done by machines, where humans are kept as pets playing games in their homes. All literature & mythology warns against such a fate. Don't go gently into the dystopia they seek.

When your internet husband gets the ick Oops 😬
How do you explain the first story ever told, book ever written, idea ever formed? How do you explain the invention of the wheel, toasted bread, etc? The idea that original thought is impossible is probably not what you meant.. 99% of stuff in the world is drawn from inspiration sure, but there's always that 1% out there..
24
You litterally cannot create something original with your mind. Every thought you ever had came from observing someone elses worm, mashed into a fucked up paste and shat out in front of you. It's the same process. It litterally is the same process
You literally CANNOT create something original with AI. It's all stolen from actually talented people, mashed into a fucked up paste, and shat out in front of you. Yet AI bros clap and drool like a bunch of morons for it.

Relying on alarmist news is unwise becuase it overlooks any pursuit of fixing the problems that the alarmism is warning against. Even PBS has programming about solutions being pursued. Linking UN is doomer thinking.
