After 3 years of making magic at my school, I’m off to making magic someplace new. I hope I taught my students something in my time there, but I KNOW they taught me more.
It’s not goodbye, just see you later. #newbeginnings #TeachersOfTwitter #theaterteacher #elementarytheatre

Had the most wonderful time at @OrlandoREP w/my fellow arts educators! I could’ve spent all day there. We need collaborative learning opportunities w/ our fellow arts educators AND our grade level/subject area colleagues. Grateful to start the year this way! #artseducationmatters

It’s ok to ask for help. Vulnerability is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Over the last two decades, more school-age children have died from guns than on-duty police officers and active duty military combined.
Think about that.
For God’s sake how much more carnage are we willing to accept?
Again. It’s happened again. Here we are, a nation sending thoughts & prayers AGAIN. Will the next “again” be the time we finally get a grip as a country & do something to protect our fellow humans? We haven’t protected each other. Not in Uvalde. Not in Buffalo. No where.
Survive, @teacher2teacher . Survive.
And that’s a wrap! Thank you so much to @UNICEFKidPower @CommonSenseEd @edwebnet @Jehehalt for allowing me to share my passion for UNICEF Kid Power with educators! 💚💙🌎 Now let’s go change the World!

New year, new role! After 14 years in the grade level classroom, I’ve started a brand new adventure as an elementary theatre teacher. I’ll still be sharing content on arts integration, social emotional learning, culturally responsive teaching…all with a theatrical twist.
👏🏽 Windows, mirrors, AND sliding glass doors.
Students are diverse, and instruction is most effective when they can see themselves in what they are learning. @SmartBrief offers 4 ways to ensure that social and emotional learning (#SEL) engages students’ unique needs/identities/assets. bit.ly/2UMJzNE
I’ve been looking forward to the last 2 weeks for 2 reasons: my family’s “staycation” at Disney World and the long awaited return to @getyourteachon National Conference. Yet, I knew these things meant that school was less than 2 weeks away and the dreadful worry began to grow.
That feeing of dread? It’s been replaced with love, inspiration, friendships, energy, & the belief that we are UNSTOPPABLE. My heart is too full to worry about tomorrow so let’s embrace that feeling and make each day the best day ever. 💜 #gytoxorlando

Yesterday, I told someone that I’m now teaching theatre after years in 2nd grade. Their reply: “Oh, so you’re not a classroom teacher.” 😳 We must STOP saying that arts teachers are not classroom teachers. We are ALL educators & we have to be in this together! #teachersoftwitter
