The Prime Meridian isn't where the brass line says. Stand on the line at Greenwich and GPS reads 0°0′5.3″ W: about 102 m (335 ft) west of zero longitude.
In classic British tradition, the GPS zero actually runs through a bin in nearby Greenwich Park.
The reason why?
When Sir George Biddell Airy set up the famous transit circle telescope at the Royal Observatory Greenwich in 1851, astronomers used a basin of mercury to establish a perfect, vertical baseline ("down") relative to the stars. However, because the Earth is an irregular shape with an uneven distribution of mass, heavy underground rock formations subtly pull gravitational plumb lines off-centre, hence the 102 m discrepancy.

This new record shop that's opened near me is rubbish. Although, the Inspiral Carpets section is pretty comprehensive, as is the Roy Wood one.

Today is World Photography Day so I thought I would share of few of my Glastonbury Tor images taken in the last year. These are ones that stood out as memorable to me rather than technically good. The kind of photograph that I doubt I will ever be able to repeat. #worldphotographyday

Morning folks. This is Olivia. She lives in the corner of my kitchen and eats the annoying flies. As it’s hot I’ve been giving her water on a soaked cotton bud. If you have a friendly house spider you’d like to take care of, it’s a quick and easy thing to do. She’s very grateful.

If I was a footballer, I would just learn the most random sentences in the languages of my opponents in perfect accent. Whispering "I am quite fond of chamomile tea" to Haaland in perfect Norwegian would break his concentration more than any defending you could do...
