youtu.be/wpyqR3nZ-2A?is=Wjl9… - a little love letter to Juan Atkins under his Model 500 productions and the soundtrack of my life for many years and still is. I was so nervous when sending this mix to Juan given it's reduced down to virtually a skeleton ghost version but his response gave me reassurance it was perfect the way it was. He said it was like living inside a dream so organic and alive, I'll never forget his words and encouragement. Beyond just being the creator of a sound, he was humble with one of the kindest hearts and soul, just an exceptional human who will be sorely missed. Rest in Power... Heaven got lucky this time... This void will be felt everywhere

Michael Jordan texted her. Barry Bonds was amazed watching her. Gabby Williams hasn’t let it sink in yet, but her heroic third quarter in Game 7 cemented her as a sports legend in the Bay Area: espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/503…

Starlight remix compilation/mix is a perfect microcosm of just one slice of Juan's vast influence and a beautiful example of the mutability of techno itself, flowing seamlessly from the original Model 500 track through a series of reworks, reshapes, and dubs

Detroit, 1983. On WJLB, the Electrifying Mojo would play Cybotron's "Cosmic Cars" every night (multiple times on some broadcasts), thus introducing me and thousands (millions?) of listeners to techno pioneer Juan Atkins. 1/2 youtube.com/watch?v=KNz01ty-…

RIP Juan Atkins, such a massive musical titan. I appreciated interviewing him a couple years back and hearing about his specific influences.

ALT I count out my loves upon thy imaginary back when you have left me. And my spirit becoming soul, I once again acknowledge, spans into the night or noon or morn — and comes back with a new flower — pure and untorn.

“P.E.A.C.E. as an artist tapped into a higher universal consciousness; you just felt blessed to witness such greatness,” said Romanowski.
Released after the emcee's death, their collaborative album soars—and is a benefit for P.E.A.C.E.'s kids.
