This story is extremely important: A whistleblower revealed that Brazil's far-right Bolsonaro family dynasty met with Meta to discuss US plans to interfere in Brazil's election, to prevent Lula from winning. Lula's Facebook and Instagram accounts were censored a few days before the first round of the presidential election. This had a huge impact on the election, because Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, which are all owned by Meta, are the most popular apps in Brazil, and are hugely influential all across Latin America. (Jair Bolsonaro's son Flávio was declared the winner of the first round of the vote, by a narrow margin.) Meta later admitted that Lula's accounts had been restricted, but it claimed that this was supposedly due to a "technical error"... The whistleblower who disclosed this is Nadia Beller, a Bolivian journalist who was almost killed by hitmen hired by Fernando Cerimedo, a far-right Argentine political operative who oversees election interference, bots, and disinformation campaigns. Cerimedo is closely linked to the US government and has worked for pretty much every right-wing leader in Latin America. He was photographed with Donald Trump Jr. and members of the Bolsonaro family, and he received an award at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida a few months before he was arrested for the failed assassination attempt against Beller, his pregnant ex-girlfriend. Cyberattack on French supermarkers. Someone remotely took over refrigeration controllers and made them to defrost. Target temperature set to 50°C. Staff opening freezers in the morning were hit by a wave of hot air. Millions of euros lost. France spent years debating food sovereignty to depend on a firmware update? bfmtv.com/economie/consommat…

🦔Someone is buying Japanese used books by the ton. Not novels or comics. Philosophy, history, medical law, Edo-period cultural texts. Multiple buyer accounts all ship to one logistics center in Okayama Prefecture that won't answer questions. Export records show over 50 tons, roughly 100,000 volumes, shipped to the US since last year. No buyer has been identified. Separately, court documents confirmed Anthropic's "Project Panama" bought millions of books in the US, cut the spines off, scanned them, and shredded the originals. An internal memo said the goal was to "destructively scan all the books in the world." Similar operations have been reported across Europe. My Take Anthropic's US book operation came out in court filings earlier this year. Project Panama. Millions of books, cut the spines off, scanned, shredded. Their VP chose the codename so nobody outside the company would find out. That story broke and apparently the same operation just moved to Japan. Anonymous buyer accounts, a warehouse in Okayama that won't take questions, and 100,000 volumes of specialized academic texts that nobody buys to resell. I don't know how you build a trillion-dollar industry on material you had to acquire in secret through middlemen because you knew the public would object. Authors spent years on those books and now they're fed through a scanner and thrown away so a chatbot can sound smarter. If the data was free to use, they wouldn't need codenames and anonymous warehouses. The lawsuits over who owns this material have barely begun and I think the copyright exposure across the whole AI industry is enormous. Anthropic's internal memo said the goal was every book in the world, which describes the foundation of the product. Hedgie🤗

Imagine being in the most evil political PR consultant meeting of all time and workshopping the satanic black magick spell / scripted sound bite that is: “The country would be better positioned on everything from GAS to GROCERIES to GAZA”
With Kamala Harris campaigning with him in Detroit, Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed said his positions on Gaza have not changed. “I was very clear that I disagreed with my party when it came to the genocide,” he said, opposing unconditional US military aid and the newly authorized $2.8 billion bomb sale to Israel. “None of those positions have changed at all. I’m not going to change them.” El-Sayed nevertheless urged Democrats divided over Gaza to build a coalition against Trump, arguing the country would be better positioned on “everything from gas to groceries to Gaza” had Trump lost in 2024.

I hope @PiersMorgan will watch this because he said he believed @HenMazzig when he insisted to Norman Finkelstein and me that he never justified or denied Israel's use of starvation, but denounced it. These are total, provable lies (and he was a paid propagandist for Israel):
"Am I a child killer?" Hen Mazzig debates Norman Finkelstein after he called Israel 'a nation of child killers' and more in tonight's Uncensored. Dropping at 7pm (BST)👇 📺 youtube.com/piersmorganuncen… @piersmorgan | @normfinkelstein | @HenMazzig | @MrWinMarshall | @ggreenwald

Why can't American late night have this bite? I feel like we're over here putting on Groucho Marx glasses and somehow still get canceled by billionaires.
The view from there: SNL UK's "Weekend Update" tackles Macklemore's removal from Ed Sheeran's U.S. tour.

I would work on the conscience first, but a close second would be his teleprompter reading:
Ed Sheeran addresses the controversy surrounding Macklemore’s removal from his tour and says, “What is happening in Gaza is catastrophic and unjustifiable.” “Before I play some songs tonight, I hope it’s okay if I say a few words about this last week,” Sheeran said at the top of Saturday’s show. “I’m used to my music being criticized, and I’m always happy to take that because I’m lucky. A lot of you like my stuff, and to be honest, I’m surprised. I’m not surprised that I’ve even done it. You know, it’s normal. But this week, the criticism was about something much more important, and I’ve had to take and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry.” Sheeran also said he was “appalled by the conflict between Israel and Palestine,” describing the suffering caused by the war as a “human tragedy,” while explaining that he has generally sought to keep his concerts focused on “unity, joy, escapism, love” rather than his own political views. variety.com/2026/music/news/…

Sometimes speaking the truth can cost one’s career and target of assassination. In the 60’s it was about Vietnam. In 2026, it is about Palestine.
