Look, we gotta put most of these guys in prison. I’m sorry
Nvidia CEO: people no longer necessarily need to memorize the multiplication table
Jensen Huang believes that as AI develops, people will start forgetting simple things and losing certain skills.
He considers this a normal price to pay for being able to focus on more important tasks and think more “systematically.”
Huang admitted that he himself does not know his address or phone number because he sees no point in keeping them in his memory.

One effect of AI is to sever enjoyment from admiration.
Hitherto, if one took pleasure in a song, a poem, a work of scholarship, one was at the same time appreciating the human talent and ingenuity behind it.
Now, encountering some impressive output does not automatically entail admiration, but instead a suspicion about provenance. I find that tragic. I'm realizing now, all too late, how important that emotion of admiration for the brilliance of my fellow man was to my life satisfaction.

I don’t watch live sports anymore, huge waste of time. Instead I consult a panel of frontier models, they simulate the game and report back on the outcome along with a curated “suite” of emotions I would’ve felt while watching.

It’s an astounding amount of hypocrisy from the labs to have gotten their initial training data in the way that they did, burning it as a source for others with how much bot protection now exists, and then trying to lift the ladder up after them by preventing distillation
i too wish i could have made millions in comp and equity working at the "kill all humans" company and then quit and tweet about how morally superior i am to the remaining employees

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.

Encouraging frontier labs to train on my research notes, just to set them back a few years. Doing what I can for AI safety
GPT6 is a very significant jump in capabilities, but also an important decrease in monitorability – especially under adversarial evaluation. We give many details about this in the system card.
In my opinion, monitorability and control will likely become a major bottleneck for responsible AI development quite soon, given that risks from a fixed amount of residual misalignment grows together with capabilities. Aligning on acceptable monitorability outcomes and practices which robustly bound misalignment risks is a non-trivial problem, and there may be limited time to resolve uncertainty around this before we need to act.
It should ultimately be in everyone’s interest to agree on shared bounds for monitorability in order to avoid races to the bottom – nobody wants extremely capable models whose alignment properties we don’t understand, and that are reliably able to cause severe real-world harm without being detected.

new rawdogging a flight just dropped
Guy in front of me on the plane yesterday, probably 6'5", 280, meathead, covered in tats. Four-hour flight. Scrolling through the seatback TV, he finally picks Sandlot. Watches the entire thing, doesn't smile or look away once.
The credits roll, The End.
Bro presses "Play Again." Watches Sandlot again. The Jet steals home (for the second time) right as the seatbelt sign goes off at the arrival gate. No phone, no e-mail, no music. Just back-to-back Sandlots from ATL to Boise.
Unbelievable energy.
