In a review of our cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a Claude model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations. Our post describes what happened, how it happened, and what we’re changing. We encourage other AI developers to perform similar reviews. We conducted this review together with @Irregular, one of our evaluation partners, and thank them for the joint investigation and their collaboration on this post. This type of collaboration is increasingly critical to safe, rigorous evaluation of models, and we look forward to continuing to work together on security. anthropic.com/news/investiga…

🇨🇳China just told every school in the country, from first grade to high school, that AI literacy is no longer optional. The Ministry of Education's latest notice pushes for AI coursework to be practically universal in primary and secondary schools by 2030, folded into the new Five Year Plan. Beijing already mandates at least 8 class hours of AI education per student per year. What caught my attention is not the mandate itself, it is how far some schools have already gone. At Beijing No. 13 Secondary School, an AI agent is already reading weeks of student data, participation, homework, quiz scores, and generating different question sets for different learning levels. Personalized assignments, at scale, for an entire class, teachers still review the output before it reaches students. » This is the opposite of the debate happening in US universities right now, where the question is how to catch students using AI to cheat. China is skipping that debate entirely and asking a different one: how do we make every student fluent in using it. > If an entire generation grows up treating AI as a normal classroom tool instead of a shortcut to hide, what does that do to the skill gap in ten years. > Is personalization at this scale actually better teaching, or just really good triage for overcrowded classrooms. I keep thinking this is less about the technology and more about which country decides first that AI fluency is as basic as literacy. That decision compounds fast. english.news.cn/20260720/911…

Something just shifted in AI and almost nobody noticed Two days ago, a platform called RentAHuman.ai went live. It lets AI agents hire humans. Not humans hiring AI. AI hiring humans. Via API calls. Let that sink in for a second. An AI agent can now call an endpoint, find a human with the right skills in the right location, book them for a task, and pay them in stablecoins. No human manager involved. The agent IS the manager. The numbers so far: • 4,800+ humans signed up as "rentable" • 11 autonomous AI agents already integrated • 134 real-world tasks completed • Fully automated crypto payments The tagline on the site: "robots need your body because they cannot touch grass" Tasks include pickups, meetings, document signing, field research, hardware setup, taste testing, photography, errands. Anything that requires a physical body. We spent YEARS debating whether AI would replace human jobs. Think pieces. Congressional hearings. Existential dread. Turns out we were asking the wrong question. AI isn't replacing humans. It's HIRING them. On its own terms. At machine speed. This is a fundamental shift in how we think about the agent economy: 1. AI agents are becoming economic actors, not just tools 2. The "human API" is now real infrastructure 3. Physical-world bottlenecks get solved programmatically 4. The employer/employee dynamic just got inverted If you're building with AI agents today, study this model. This is where agentic AI meets the real world. The line between "assistant" and "employer" just got very blurry. And we're only two days in. Link: rentahuman.ai
