the v4 model from @ElevenLabs is impressive for voice cloning. One thing that needs work still though is laughing. Laughs are as unique and varied as voices yet all AI generated laughing sounds the same. We'll be on the lookout v5 👀
Sounds like the ads manager if fully MCP enabled which is interesting. Guessing that TikTok sees an open MCP strategy as accretive to share shift more budget their way. cc @garethglaserjr per our thread the other week on this topic
NEWS: Tiktok's pitch to advertisers this week is buy ads in other people's apps, check out without leaving the feed, and run it all from Claude or Perplexity if you'd rather skip ads manager, and some mini scooplets in here

AI host-read ads are going to be closing the performance gap from human host-read ads with help from ElevenLabs' v4 model that dropped today! Excited to test
Every time a major streaming event (MLB playoffs) serves a “this program will resume shortly” during commercial break, an adtech angel loses its wings
“My ultimate inspiration is San Francisco’s Treasure Island. It started out as a landfill, and now people spend $4k/month for a 1 bedroom apartment there. If I make enough trash, eventually I can bundle it up and call it a treasure.”

I'm in the midst of a cross-country move, so I wasn't able to watch this interview when it was published. I finally found the time for it this weekend, and it is truly phenomenal. Genuinely a tour de force of insight. I haven't encountered a more information-dense video in recent memory.
It also crystallizes Ben's role as the transcendent, towering technology analyst. I contend that no other person on Earth could go as deep across such a broad set of topics. He is an N of 1.
The Alliance for Measurement in Podcasting dropped the "AMP Accords" today, a 11 company ratified set of recommendations on how to fix the way podcasting is defined, measured, and attributed as the medium moves into its video era. With this release, AMP is dissolving itself /1
Attribution: this is a meatier one which deserves a full article unto itself. High level, I'm not sure the economic rationals of all players are reflected here. The idea of an industry wide data clean room seems unlikely in practicality.
This pretty much sums up the vibe when IAB Techlab and the Alliance for Measurement in Podcasting (AMP) are simultaneously working on separate standards for podcast measurement … both releasing documents this week
And here I am using my keyboard and trackpad like an idiot… I mean, the fidget button to help pass the time while I wait seems worth the $200+ alone
