For Muslims with eating disorders, Ramadan may present unique challenges. For @HuffPost I explored the complicated balance some Muslims navigate between faith, fasting, and their relationship with food. huffpost.com/entry/ramadan-m…

Fasting During Ramadan Is Challenging — But 1 Thing Makes It Especially Complicated

So many people are left to navigate this deeply personal battle alone, with little support and even less awareness.

When my Mom was dying of late stage cancer, she was staying in a nursing/rehab facility while we figured out next steps. She was on an IV and couldn't walk Her Aetna Medicare Advantage plan wanted to kick her out of the facility. Regular Medicare would've covered it. My story:

NEW: Private health insurance corporations are trying to trick seniors across America into signing up for Medicare Advantage. Is it less expensive? No. Is it better coverage? Also no. It’s just another way for corporations to skim more money off the ill.

I usually don’t comment on Pakistani politics. I disagree with IK on many political issues. But this is not about politics- it’s about my children’s father, his human rights & international law. For the past few years, I’ve been bullied & harassed into silence by PML-N goons, including rape threats & countless conspiracy theories. Meanwhile Twitter/ X is banned in Pakistan, PTI party members & civilian supporters have been abducted, anyone with a platform who was speaking out is now in jail & silenced, Imran Khan’s photo and name have been censored on state television (they have even redacted his image from any coverage of Pakistan’s World Cup win of 92!) I owe it to my children to try to create some awareness about what is happening in Pakistan. Please help in any way that you can. Thank you.

After more than four years at NowThis, I was laid off last week, along with a number of my incredible colleagues. I started as NowThis’ sole copy editor, and I leave having built and led a copy team I believed in so deeply, which will forever be a career highlight.

Getting laid off after 4.5 years at NowThis was gutting, but the outpouring of love, support, and appreciation I've received has been overwhelming. We are all stronger together, and I'm so grateful to all the folks who've reached out today — it means more than you know. ❤️

If you had to point to one person as the heart of soul of what NowThis was, look no further than Jas. Long hours, hellish commuting times, and ever-changing newsroom—-she’s the true MVP.

After 8.5 years at NowThis, I was laid off today along with many of my talented colleagues. I’ve produced thousands of videos and connected w/ so many amazing people. It was rough finding this out at 1AM, but I am excited to see what’s next for me. Until then my DMs are open.
