The #1 thing Apple could improve to give me a better experience on my devices would be faster Face ID. The Duo has made me conscious that Face ID is slow af when you are doing it non-stop. (I have apps locked down in case I get robbed and I have to give them the PIN)

BREAKING: France just voted to tax the internet. French lawmakers approved a tax of €0.055 (5.5 cents) for every gigabyte of data that companies like Netflix and YouTube send to French users. It’s a tax on the companies, not users directly, but the cost could get passed on to subscribers. The vote was 11 to 10, with only 35 of 577 lawmakers present. Supporters say it could raise up to €10 billion a year. The French government opposed it, warning it would hit smaller French companies hardest; VLC says it would cost it over €1 million a year.

This amendment to France's 2027 budget bill was narrowly adopted 11-10 in the National Assembly (35 voters present) but is not yet law, faces government opposition, and must still clear further Assembly/Senate steps. assemblee-nationale.fr/dyn/17/comptes… assemblee-nationale.fr/dyn/17/amendem… capital.fr/economie-polit… stephanelarue.com/taxe-au-gigaoc…

Jesus Christ, picked up my iPhone Duo this morning in Colombia, lady opens the box to confirm it’s all there which they do in Colombia, proceeds to put it back in the box wrong, then presses down with force on the box to try to close it. If my Duo has issues, we know why. 🤡😂🤦‍♂️

ATTACKERS REPORTEDLY EXPLOITED ETHEREUM’S EIP-7702 TO DRAIN BINANCE WALLETS On-chain analysis suggests attackers obtained signed authorizations allowing them to install malicious code on Binance-linked wallets without directly accessing their private keys. The attackers then used a function called “sweep” to transfer ETH and dozens of tokens into an attacker-controlled wallet. The same delegated permissions were reportedly used to move another $780 million in USDC from a separate Binance hot wallet. The attacker’s transaction relayer was funded through Tornado Cash, while nearly 195,460 ETH was subsequently transferred to a newly created wallet. How the attackers obtained the authorizations remains unknown. Binance says user funds are safe and is investigating.
ok safe to say binance is pwned The biggest assets were approximately: • 1.615B USDT • 62.6M RLUSD • 29,934 wBETH • 11,372 XAUt • 6.19M UNI • 198.4M ENA • 7.175T PEPE • 27.8M USD1 • 2.26M LINK • 127,853 AAVE about $2.5B at the explorer’s prices. 1. The attacker deployed a delegate contract, 0x63e842b0...73e9c6fAe, from the relayer at 15:59 UTC. 2. About four hours later, the relayer submitted an EIP-7702 authorization transaction That installed the malicious 7702 delegate code on Binance 14. 3. The relayer then made a call to Binance 14, executing the delegate code, and transferring Binance 14’s ETH and token balances. 4. The calldata is labeled sweep(address, address[]). The second argument is a list of recognizable token-contract addresses plus the zero-address (eth). 5. The same relayer later used the same delegate to move 780M USDC from Binance Hot Wallet 34 into the same pool • The relayer 0x7C... was funded by three Tornado Cash 0.1 ETH withdrawals over the prior two days. • The same pool also received 28,005.6 ETH from Binance 16 24 seconds after the main sweep. • The pool then forwarded 195,460 ETH to a fresh, unlabeled EOA • That EOA has only one transaction and currently holds the 195,460 ETH. What's a bit unclear is why the relayer was needed in the first place. If they had the private keys to the Binance wallets, they could have just sent the assets out in an atomic bundle without needing a relayer at all. So it seems likely that they didn't have the private keys and instead just had the 7702 auth signatures, which must have been phished somehow. I think we can go ahead and assume DPRK.

🇻🇪 Interim president Delcy Rodriguez gave important announcements to the country today: ✅ NO ONE CAN'T BE DETAINED WITHOUT AN ARREST WARRANT, and the right to peaceful protest shall be guaranteed. ✅ The cases of all individuals who are deprived of their liberty or facing legal proceedings under the “hate law” must be reviewed, with the aim of terminating the criminal proceedings against them. ✅ Non-essential state-owned enterprises will be offered to the private sector or returned to their former owners, from whom they were taken through expropriation. ✅ All elections mandated by the Constitution will be held, overseen by a new National Electoral Council (CNE) and with guarantees for all political actors. ✅ Anyone wishing to return to Venezuela may do so with full guarantees and their documentation; they will be welcomed back with open arms.

I keep telling this to every developer I know if you run npm install on your bare macbook in 2026 you are waiting to be pwned you need to develop inside a container one bad vscode extension, one poisoned crate, and every credential on your machine is gone. that's not even paranoia anymore, it's just the baseline apple/container spins up light linux vms on apple silicon so I’ve updated my agent skill remote VMs setup and management to support local ones use /remote-computer, create a local apple container for multi-language development it sizes the VM to your CPU/RAM/disk, sets up key-only SSH on a host-only IP, no published ports, no home dir mount, and ports your git identity and commit signing. also works with AWS and GCP VMs

A friend in Venezuela wrote me tonight almost crying because her iPhone suddenly “stopped working” and she “couldn’t do anything anymore” and she needed a new phone… Turns out she is on iOS 18 still and never updated WhatsApp. An app update in the App Store fixed it all. 😂

What made it even more hilarious is that she was trying to say the issue was because of the iOS 27 update that she didn’t even have space to download lol. This is your average 20s something female iPhone user in South America.

I really don’t understand how people can literally be glued to their device for years, and also depend on it for their business, and not take the time to learn or understand other basic things about the device. But I am obviously a rational thinker… 😂

Is anyone else getting non-stop 2fa reset SMS from random companies all day long now? I’ve gotten over 25 of them today from 3 different companies. I’m about ready to delete my accounts with these companies so the SMS stop. 🇺🇸

Is the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR going to be worth the $400 difference? That's really the question. The reduced weight seems nice. The configuration I want is around $5500 so it's almost as if another $400 doesn't even matter at that point...

I finally had a need for Xcode and getting it setup on my Mac Mini for remote vibe coding, with fully automated builds shipped to TestFlight via Hermes over Discord. I feel so l33t like @drbarnard now. Now to build some iPhone Duo apps!

democrats: if we take power we will seize elon musk's companies and put him in prison and no, we do not care if he technically committed any crime or not also democrats, somehow: why is elon musk funding republicans?
Elon Musk is dumping half a billion dollars into Republican races. Why? Because Democrats in Congress won’t be a rubber stamp for Donald Trump and will actually fight to lower costs.

I couldn’t resist the FOMO any longer. I found a 256GB iPhone Duo in stock here in Colombia and bought it for $2881. The tariffs here really make the price a lot more than the U.S. but that’s with sale tax at least. My goal is to vibe code some apps that make me my money back. 😎

Microsoft laying off 30% of the workforce (voluntary buyouts for now but will become layoffs if not exercised) can be read a few different ways, all valid 1) AI replacement 2) They were 30% overstaffed to begin with 3) Adult day care is over 4) No more (or less) H1B nonsense Hopefully the era of the nepo job is over.
