In this psilocybin depression study, at one year out, 16 of 17 participants in the psilocybin group correctly guessed which group they were in (treatment or placebo), as did 16 of 16 in the niacin group. 😜 jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…

I'd like to give a special shout out to the "eighty percenters" out there. Health policy is multitudinous. If you agree with ~80% of what we write/say @centermodhealth and disagree with the other 20%, but you still follow us, then that's pretty cool of you. You're our kind.

If you have the soul of a builder but for whatever reason right now is not the time to pursue that, try to find a job where they're willing to give you the keys to some program where they've laid out the basic goals and conditions, but how you do it is up to you. Doesn't even matter what. Wide berth is what is key.

Victor Wooten has said that how a person reacts to unexpected disruptions during travel is a good indicator of one's character. I propose another one that's just as good: how a person treats referees in youth sports.

Is it reasonable to make participation in the labor force a condition of receiving public assistance? In many cases, yes. These programs are supposed to be temporary safety nets, not permanent arrangements. But do I trust Trump and his cronies--the people who have brought us masked, Gestapo-style ICE raids with summary deportations--to enforce this fairly, accurately, and without exploiting it for political gain? Guess.

Hi all. I saw Anish's tweet yesterday but didn't have a chance to reply. I wasn't so much taking sides on physicians vs insurers; was more trying to give a little roast to the dysfunctional IDR process (although I see how it could be read that way).

"Red states" do a much better job at clearing the way for concierge medicine and Direct Primary Care to work. See variable #52 below. centerformodernhealth.org/pu…

I've never had a root canal or a colonoscopy, but I can't imagine that either could possibly be worse than trying to use the Google Ads interface.
