Been a busy week, so I haven't shared much online (as if I ever do). Appreciated this WYSK from @JudahAriGross

What is Israel's responsibility to Jews in the diaspora? @eJPhil asks that question to the faces of Israeli politicians this weds, online and at ANU – Museum of the Jewish People.

With denominational lines blurring and rabbis choosing non-pulpit roles over pulpit ones, it's such an interesting moment in the Jewish world. Ziegler school to stay Conservative, but with a shifting curriculum to target today's needs. My latest in @eJPhil

The story of an amazing curly girl who does great things. My latest in @eJPhil about @IsraAID's Yasmeen Abu Fraiha

The Jewish world marks time with a sharp designation: Before Oct. 7 and After Oct. 7.
This is how leaders of Jewish nonprofits navigated the emotion-filled early days after the massacres and shaped the changes in the years to come.

As many in the philanthropic world has pivoted away from combatting antisemitism initiatives that have no proof of working, it's interesting to watch others combat antisemitism from new angles. My latest in @eJPhil

Speaking up works. 📣
This week, we've got the sweetest proof, after the Jewish community rallied and saved our beloved Sunkist Fruit Gems... in just a matter of days! 🍬
Dear fancy literary agents, I am open to writing a book about what the temporary loss of @Sunkist Fruit Gems says about American Jews' ability to accept change. I have connections to every major Jewish leader and years of Jewish longform journo experience. Gimme all your moneys!
After @ejphil broke the news of the discontinuation of @Sunkist Fruit Gems, the neon-colored candy sold out across the US! Petions were signed! Calls made. And @Sunkist listened.
Here's the update from @JudahAriGross on how US Jews saved the Gems!

And now we're in the @nytimes!

If you had told me a year ago that @eJPhil's big breakout story would be about Sunkist Fruit Gems, I absolutely would have believed you because that is entirely on-brand.
Eruvim are anti-assimilation. Easier to go to a Jewish day care if that's what is nearby. Easier to hit a shiva if mourners live a block over. Easier to get invited to Shabbos dinner, blah, blah, blah. Jews of all denominations would benefit from taking them more seriously.
I get so geeked for eruvim, and I drive on Shabbos, so carrying isn't a concern for me. As someone who doesn't live in Manhattan, I'm more concerned with the community aspect.

My favorite @jewishinsider and @eJPhil stories are the ones that are niche beyond belief. @jaydeitcher's piece today about the discontinuation of Sunkist enters the canon.

Who among us hasn't whipped one of these as hard as we can at our friend's faces (out of love)?
They had the perfect softness to pelt at 13 year olds. You don't know what you got till it's gone. My latest in @eJPhil
