Why was Chastain up there racing at the front of the field for the second time of the day when he’s not in contention?

Weaver is much more poetic than I am here. All I've got is that I understand it, but I don't have to like it. And I don't like it.
I wanted to save this for my show tonight but since we don't have a lot going in this first stage. Here's what I've got: There's just no incentive for anyone to risk tearing up their shit on Lap 32 and giving up 50 to 60 points, especially given the stakes. They're competitors, not performers, and there is too much to compete for later. If these races have to be 500 miles, then just make these races four stages like the Coke 600, and give them extra incentive to race it out throughout the duration. Everyone says they wanted practice, here's your superspeedway practice right here. Sure, this isn't optimal, and I'm not saying you're wrong to feel any of these things, but if you're racing for a championship, you're not going to race it out and crash with nothing to show for it. They want track position later. What good faith ideas to you have to give them incentive to race?

This has turned into a joke
"We need to be max saving here," Joey Logano is told. He's currently at 43% throttle according to the NASCAR.com tracker thingy.

Phoenix marks "One Final Ride" for Axalta, as the company merges with AkzoNobel and takes on a new name in 2027. The @Hendrick24Team will carry a special paint scheme on Sunday, identical to that of the brand's first appearance in #NASCAR (2013). josephsrigley.com/2026/10/13…

"Respectfully, the Court wishes the Parties could resolve more of these discovery disputes on their own without Court intervention. The Parties in this case litigate like they race – all out to win. That approach has certainly applied to discovery in this case, and while admirable to an extent, has likely contributed to delays and additional expense. That said, the Court does appreciate the efforts of counsel in advocating for their clients, and occasionally, resolving an issue by compromise."
In JGR-Spire/Gabehart discovery dispute, judge rules: -JGR must provide full TRD agreement & all JGR-TRD contracts -Spire & JGR must provide final race setups for 2025 & 2026 -Spire must provide debriefs/all competition meeting notes & materials from Cup races Gabehart attended

I was standing next to the No. 88 car in a scrum getting @DaleJr quotes when this exploded. Will never forget Dale Jr. watching on the big screen and saying something along the lines of, “Damn, Chase is working!”

It troubles me that most fans today know Darrell Waltrip as the broadcaster not the racer. Ole DW could flat drive a race car as good as anyone ever did it. The dude was elite.

Sending my thoughts to @darrellwaltrip & the entire Waltrip family. FTD is a rough, rough condition. DW has dedicated his life to the sport of NASCAR and we’re all better off for it.
Darrell Waltrip's family has announced he has had a recent diagnosis of cognitive disease, which is causing some minor symptoms and will keep him away from the limelight. "Darrell is happy and otherwise healthy." ... Full statement:
