If I were short right now, I wouldn't be carrying those positions into the weekend. After this much selling and panic, the last thing I'd want is to wake up Monday to a massive gap up and watch those profits disappear.

Plus rising oil. 🤣
FITCH WARNS AI BOOM AND RISING YIELDS THREATEN GLOBAL MARKETS Fitch Ratings warns that global credit risks are deteriorating heading into 2027, citing AI investment uncertainty, elevated energy prices and tighter financing conditions. Fitch forecasts the Fed policy rate reaching 4.25% and remaining there through 2027, with one additional hike expected this year. The agency projects the US 10-year Treasury yield at 4.8% by end-2027, but warns that prolonged disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could push yields higher. Fitch also highlights the risk that AI infrastructure spending may exceed sustainable demand, potentially triggering a sharp pullback in investment.

Another 2M out of commercial crude. Refineries don’t want the oil from SPR anymore possibly because it’s bad quality or too expensive. $WTI $USO is going higher. Maybe not this week, but soon.

There is far too much focus on expected compute supply coming to market and not nearly enough attention given to the huge gap in revenue relative to what is needed to justify all that capex. h/t @ulf_huse

Yes. I’ve been saying this for decades. Communism, socialism, fascism, and Nazism are just different flavors of the same poison. Hitler was a great admirer of Mussolini, who is considered the father of Fascism, and was a well-known socialist of his time. There is no far right. There are the leftists, who want to run our lives and steal our wealth, and then there are normal people, who just want to be left alone.

In short, you can use startlink to defend from people from dying but you can’t kill people using the service.
Correct. Using Starlink, a civilian commercial service, for offensive drone strikes to kill people has never been allowed, nor should it be. Starshield, a different system, is controlled by the US government. What they decide to do is up to them. Ukraine military violated Starlink terms of service and used it for offensive drone strikes to kill people. That loophole was closed last week. Starlink remains critical to the defense of Ukraine, as it is the only system that cannot be jammed or blown up, at least for now. Were Starlink to be turned off, the Ukrainian front line would collapse immediately. This is NOT a threat, it is simply a statement of fact. Starlink was also crucial to preventing Russia from overrunning Ukraine in the early days of the war, as all other means of communication were destroyed or jammed by Russia. SpaceX has done more to defend Ukraine than any private company on Earth BY FAR. That said, I have nothing but UTTER CONTEMPT for the virtue-signaling evil warmongers who push for endless slaughter and offer no realistic solution to the conflict. May you burn in hell. End of story.

In short, WS is pricing in that Iran has more leverage during war than US thinks.
Oil volatility has slowly started moving higher. Even though WTI has remained largely flat for the past 3 days, oil options are getting more expensive, suggesting the market is increasingly pricing in larger moves ahead. At the same time, liquidation pressure is building across metals and equities. We cannot say with certainty what is brewing behind the scenes, but these developments are increasingly pointing towards something bigger. My suspicion is that smart money is positioning for a major event, and oil is very much part of that equation. Price is still relatively calm, but volatility is beginning to tell a different story.
