Wrote yesterday about the weirdo suing me in Wyoming for $795m. Lots of you offered to help crowdfund my defence. That's very kind, but the lawsuit isn't very serious, it won't cost very much, and I can afford it. Not everyone is in that position...

Jo Coburn brilliant as usual.
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

One of the things the leadership of the Green Party have yet to learn is responsibility. The ink is barely dry on a highly problematic motion and yet both deputy leaders are peddling inaccuracies about book banning. I'm sure this will delight the entryists who seem to be driving party policy.

One of the things which might improve public discourse is if bodies like @tvlicensing stopped writing letters as if they were East End villains. Letters in a threatening tone - 'if you don't do any of the above you can expect a visit soon' - to properties where no licence is due.

This is what happens when you start heavily policing language in Parliaments. It just becomes another political football to stop people using perfectly everyday terminology that doesn't suit those who are in favour of the policy.
🚨SENEDD BANS THE TERM "BLANKET 20MPH"🚨 The Senedd's ban on using the word "blanket" to describe 20mph speed limits descended into farce earlier, as several members were reprimanded for using the term. You really need to watch this one in full.

Jonathan Shedler writes very accessibly on therapy, what it should look like, and some of the problems with how it's currently practised. Essential reading if you are in any way interested in the topic, and especially if you've become disillusioned with it in some way.

Another victory for cowardice and stupidity. Is it any wonder we live in times where the only metric of right and wrong is whether someone is 'offended', that people have no understanding of the importance of free speech, and the police think it's their duty to intervene in artists producing satire. As a nation we are becoming more stupid by the day.

Another back of the fag packet tax policy from the LibDems. Who is advising them on this rubbish ?

If the Daily Mail was a character in an Agatha Christie novel, it would be the one who is discovered writing the poison pen letters. Andy Burnham's clothes are from Private White V.C., a great Manchester outfitter which operates from one of the original Manchester factories. It's outerwear is inspired by British military history. Politicians should do more of this, not be castigated for it by snide 'journalists'.

A reminder, Andy, of the Thatcher era: • Income tax: 83% → 40% • Basic rate: 33% → 25% • Inflation: 21.9% peak (1980) → 2.4% (1986) • Days lost to strikes: 29.5 million (1979) → 1.9 million (1990) • Real pay for the average earner: up by a third

More garbage from Ed Davey with a string of sound bites with no logic whatsoever. If we can’t get beyond this ‘everything’s broken’ narrative we are in trouble. People want vision from leaders, not constant whining about the state of things. That just buys into the populist narrative.
Today I called on our incoming PM to fix our broken politics. If Andy Burnham is serious about changing the way we do things and ending the performative hostility, my door is open.

A really interesting post from @jonathanshedler on what in depth therapy looks like and how it tries to find what's really going on with you. Especially important if you've lost faith in therapy, have long standing issues that you feel have never really been uncovered or make any sense to you, but also useful if you've never had therapy and want an idea of what good therapy involves.
✍️ My Monday post is live. It’s a big one. ❝ Therapist and patient may have the illusion they have completed therapy when real therapy never even started. Read here 👇 jonathanshedler.substack.com…

This is a really serious mistake by @ArchbishopSarah. The Archbishops should not be giving any house room whatsoever to discussions which suggest that sexuality can be changed by religious intervention. These ideas belong in the Middle Ages; they are deeply harmful, prey on those in distress, are incapable of working and frankly, are cultish. The sheer lack of understanding in thinking they can be ‘non-abusive’ is truly breathtaking and disturbing from someone with the background of the Archbishop. I doubt she really believes it, but either way young people need protection from this evil nonsense, not the indulgence of the Church leadership.
Father forgive them for they DO know exactly what they do & they bloody well don't care! The Archbishops have decided to allow the promotion of 'conversion therapy' at @synod, despite 2017 resolution to ban it They are well aware of the significant harm these practices cause
