We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.
ALT A full disk image of Earth, as seen from the Orion capsule. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. From about 8 to 9 o'clock, a large brown landmass is Africa, with the Iberian peninsula twinkling with lights just where the planet curves. At the 1 o'clock spot, aurora glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space. Credit: NASA/Reid Weisman
Fascinating how often we search for lesser substitutes that are merely shadows of the True. Preaching on John 14 tomorrow, and I’m amazed how many of the desires expressed here correlate directly to the gift of the Spirit of God with us and in us.
Praying for Deer Creek and all the families, friends, students, teachers, administrators, and others feeling such sadness and loss in this car wreck. Lord, be near to the broken-hearted.
Against the Machine is thought-provoking, well-written, and moving in many ways, even while offering its dark depiction of “the unmaking of humanity.” Kingsnorth does not just stir the stew but goes ahead and dumps the entire pot on the kitchen floor.),
As I read, I routinely thought, something here feels right and true, but I’m also not certain the solutions are as sure as they sound. Still, the book was fascinating food-for-thought which I am I sure will continue poking and prodding my brain for some time. #againstthemachine
Church recs for my son in NYC? Aware of several obvious ones, and I’m sure there are also great ones I don’t know (aka churches with unpublished pastors). Open to all but he’s asking for several as he starts grad school there.

What happens if Mike Tyson can’t stay up until his fight starts? It’s getting late for the 50+ crowd!
