Citadel
Interesting drama
Seven people left Citadel to build perp DEXs, including Hyperliquid, QFEX, and Lighter
Today, the CFTC approved trading equity perpetuals. In other words, RWA perps. This is particularly bullish for Hyperliquid and its HIP-3 product, which is likely to be among the first to launch in the US market
Now Citadel is suing, arguing that these products qualify as security-based swaps and, under an act of Congress, should fall exclusively under SEC jurisdiction rather than the CFTC's
They're essentially trying to get the approval overturned and the launch blocked
Are TradFi players starting to fear competition from perp DEXs - especially when they're being built by founders who used to work for them?

Went through 4 perp DEXs onchain after the Binance hack: Lighter (~$1B), Hyperliquid (~$6.5B), Aster (~$500M) and Variational (~$290M).
If their own systems got hacked like Binance's, only one of them would stop the attacker from pulling your balance out.

Not all KOLs deliver the same kind of value. In fact, I’d split them into two categories: Brand KOLs and Interaction KOLs.
1. Brand KOLs are measured by exposure: impressions, followers, replies, and engagement. These metrics can often be generated at a relatively low cost.
2. Interaction KOLs are measured by actual business outcomes: sign-ups, deposits, active traders, and trading volume. These results require real users, real capital.
Here's the problem: very few KOLs can—or are willing to—take accountability for actual business results.
But this gap could create an entirely new business model for Web3 marketing.
The next evolution of KOL marketing may not be about selling exposure. It may be about getting paid for performance.
Curious to hear what others think: Would you work with KOLs on a performance-based model?

Crypto Twitter KOLs are a fucking scam. And we have the numbers to prove why.
We hired 200+ KOLs with 10M+ combined followers. Every single one had a 400+ Sorsa score and 100+ Smart Followers. Most had 1,000+ Sorsa.
200+ KOLs posted twice each.
Our result? 280 NFTs sold at $5.
Now let’s talk about this circus.
Fake views. Fake likes. AI-generated replies that don’t even understand what the project does. The same fucking accounts liking and replying to each other in engagement groups, recycling engagement and pretending they’re influential.
You have 200K followers but can’t prove you have actual buyers. You’re scared of referral deals because deep down you know nobody will click your links, buy anything or convert.
YOU HAVE BOTTED FOLLOWERS, NOT INFLUENCE.
And the funniest part? You genuinely think you’re marketing professionals. You’re a bunch of engagement farmers playing influencer, selling fake numbers to projects and calling it a career.
Our team tested this firsthand. We were ready to pay for influence, but got fucking nothing.
And you wonder why CT is dying? Why projects are cutting deals? Why marketing teams are moving to TikTok and Instagram?
BECAUSE NOBODY WANTS TO PAY FOR YOUR BULLSHIT ANYMORE.
Honestly, go work at McDonald’s. At least you’ll serve people something useful instead of selling projects fake engagement and pretending to be important.
200+ KOLs. 10M+ followers. 280 NFTs sold.
That’s your fucking influence.
