Be empathetic. Carnegie wrote that “the only way on earth to influence other people is to talk about what they want and show them how to get it.” #howtowinfriendsandinfluencepeople

This....then....still sends chills down the spine. 44 years ago today. Feb 22, 1980. Their impact still felt today as the growth of American hockey continues coach to coast in markets no one ever imagined. #growthegame Off to the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center :)

"I wish everyone could have my parents because they always let me choose whatever I wanted to, even when I was younger. I made also some other sports and they never put pressure on me, and I wish this freedom is possible for as many young kids as possible" Jannik Sinner #getty

This great message was sent to me by a friend. Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough. Sometimes we spend so much time and energy thinking about where we want to go that we don't notice where we happen to be. One of the main reasons that we lose our enthusiasm in life is because we become ungrateful…we let what was once a miracle become common to us. We get so accustomed to his goodness it becomes a routine. Be thankful for your allotment in an imperfect world. Though better circumstances can be imagined, far worse are nearer misses than you probably care to realize. Be thankful for life, be thankful for opening your eyesight, to breathe, to walk, to eat, to hear, to speak, to sit, to jump, to dance and the ability to have all your senses. Enjoy a happy Thanksgiving, #BBN!

And now it's official: TB and Oakland are settled. So MLB will now turn its mind in earnest to expanding by two teams. On the table are Nashville, Portland, Charlotte, Montreal, Salt Lake City and Mexico City. Nashville seems to be a frontrunner so that leaves one more spot.

When you’re viewing the look and feel of the @atptour Nitto Finals, it’s a shame we didn’t see this at the @WTA Finals- it’s what they, the players, fans and our sport deserved. I’m sure there will be a major shift next year and beyond.

John McEnroe says Carlos Alcaraz is ‘one in a billion’ & urges young athletes to go to college: “I grew up in Queens. The best thing that ever happened to me was not going to a Nick Bollettieri-style camp. I would’ve quit the game at 16 or 17. I love to play other sports.. All studies show, both physically & mentally, it’s healthier for kids to play other sports.. Tennis players are peaking later than they ever did. I think college is an experience that not only do you get to play as a team potentially if you’re in a sport, but you get to grow up a little bit & also have some fun before you work your way into a profession, & you’ll be more prepared to handle it. So I completely disagree with what academies do most often. For every person you hear that succeeds, there’s a million that don’t. Not everyone’s Carlos Alcaraz, he’s one in a billion. He’s just a freak. He’s an incredible player, but most kids have no business doing that.” (via SmartLess Podcast)

I suppose if someone were to write a book on how to be strong in yourself and gentle with so much of what’s around you. To know so much and never lose your curiosity. To be open yet resolute when it matters. He could be on the cover. One of the most remarkable things about him is that even though he is one of the greatest and most important artists of all time, those things aren’t his value or even the most interesting things about him. If any other line of work, or way to express oneself chose him, he'd still be a King. Happy 70th, Geddy Lee. 🖤

This answer may surprise some people: Tennis. Theres some data on this, older adults who play tennis regularly have extended longevity, and very low risk of injury Playing 2-3 times a week is enough My take is tennis is anaerobic, not super high impact, lateral movement and visual tracking preserve critical motor coordination skills and very brain stimulating
Completely off topic question but had a question since you've seen billions of injuries If you had to tell someone over 40 a sport to play for life what would it be for longevity (lifting and walking doesn't count those are givens). Assume goal is longevity and health
