Tonight - join @ZackPolanski and @jeremycorbyn to march against austerity. The political class concedes nothing if you don't fight for it. Let's build a movement for an alternative to misery and decline.

Gay man here 👋🏻 The LGB Alliance does not represent me or any LGB person I know. Its work is overwhelmingly focused on attacking trans rights, and it aligns itself with those who oppose LGBTQ+ equality. The government should not treat it as a credible voice for LGB people.
We’re pleased to be invited to give oral evidence to the joint committee scrutinising the draft Conversion Practices bill. It’s vital that they hear from the many LGB people opposed to this bill and understand the harms it could cause to LGB teens.

The Tories are complaining about a benefit system they are wholly responsible for introducing. They brought in both Universal Credit, and the Personal Independence Payments system. Now they say they aren't fit for purpose. They think we're stupid.

1. Women don't have 'safe spaces'. At all. Anywhere. 2. We have designated public facilities, which we fear going into alone. 3. All the men claiming trans women are engaged in an elaborate plot to hear us piss: you are telling on yourselves. Night.

This fucking idiot used to be supportive of trans people until he discovered the money to be made from clickbait based around hatred. Total fucking clown.

We don’t need a business-as-usual Budget. We need a Budget to tax extreme wealth and make the UK affordable. This is the scale of change Britain desperately needs – and only the Green Party can deliver it.

One of the arguments I’ve heard against the ‘ban conversion practices bill’ is “oh it’s not as bad as it was in the 60s we don’t hurt people now with electroconvulsive shock anymore ” - I mean if that is where you’re starting point is I don’t know what to tell you. And to be honest, I think I would prefer that less duplicitous torture, than to listen to Stella O’Malley in a Zoom call trying to tell me that my parents are right to sexually shame me. (Which is actually something I’ve heard happen.)

jk rowling’s new essay is basically: - doubling down on her homophobia and transphobia - invoking civil rights because she thinks she is fucking rosa parks - weaponising SA survivors against LGBTQIA+ people (ignoring how many of us are survivors ourselves) - george orwell quote

I find it quite amusing watching J.K. Rowling lecture everyone about working-class women, especially nurses. I spent ten years in the ambulance service, worked through COVID and went on to study nursing. Meanwhile, people close to her political circle were trying to get me sacked. I’ve actually done the work she’s so fond of talking about. Working-class women aren’t props for wealthy people to drag out whenever they need a bit of moral authority. Some of us have spent our lives doing the jobs she’s romanticising, and we don’t all agree with her. Funny how quickly our voices stop mattering when we say something she doesn’t like.

There's quite some armchair diagnosis going on here, are we SURE he doesn't work for the government's Capability Work Assessment team, because that's the sort of reasoning they apply to ensure the long term sick & disabled lose their benefits if they're not at death's door....
StatsForLefties is a well run account. Professional graphics, very regular content, high engagement. It should be reason enough to strip the out of work benefits from the person who runs it. She is obviously talented and very clearly isn’t incapable of employment.

CEO of Sex Matters demanding that abusive parents should be free to abuse LGBTQ children. It is laughable that @ChtyCommission leaves them to insist that they are a human rights charity. Well it isn't laughable as this is so serious

A trans woman died because of the UK’s new hospital ward policy forcing them men's wards. Joelle was only 27 — a musician, coder, and daughter. This is what happens when they care more about demagoguery, backwards views of sex, non-existent risk than people's well being.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
References by Joelle's mother to an announcement by Steve Barclay, date this to October 2023 - therefore well before the current NHS policy change. No details about the circumstances of Joelle's death have been independently verified or reported. translegalclinic.com/justice-for-jo… theguardian.com/society/2023/o…
