Frog put the keys in the HSM. "There" he said "now we cannot leak the private key". "But our servers can ask the box to sign with the key" said Toad. "that is true" said Frog

High fashion is not exactly my usual territory but look at this... Prada’s entire holiday campaign was drawn by hand. Probably the biggest thing they put out all year and the whole point of it is that people spent bloody ages making it. This is what all the doomers are missing about AI. Once a machine can make the image for free, the thing that sets you apart is that a human did it. Human craft becomes the luxury good. Prada have worked it out before most economists have. Funnily enough I wrote about exactly this today... what stays scarce when intelligence is free. I'll link the full piece below for anyone interested
Introducing β€œDrawing Prada”, the Prada Holiday 2026 campaign. A Prada fantasy created by hand, an experiment in craft. A team of legendary animators creates a hand-drawn world of characters for Prada Ambassadors Chen Haoyu, Maya Hawke, Sadie Sink, and Kelvin Harrison Jr., together with Luther Ford. If you look closely enough, breakthroughs in everything are accelerating exponentially. An exponential always starts off looking small.
this might be my last normal tweet before biotech goes vertical i'm not a whistleblower. I don't work at Lilly, Novo or any of the big labs but there is a massive shift happening in human biology right now. it's sitting in press releases and almost nobody reads them the last 6 months alone: - a once-daily pill roughly doubled median survival in metastatic pancreatic cancer (13.2 vs 6.6 months) - a one-time gene editing infusion cut hereditary angioedema attacks 87%, and 62% of patients stayed attack-free and off all other prevention for 6 months - a one-time gene edit for cholesterol dropped LDL up to 62%, and it held for over a year - a personalized mrna vaccine beat keytruda alone in a 1,137 patient melanoma phase 3 - retatrutide hit ~28% weight loss in a phase 3 - an ai-designed drug entered phase 3 - a pill that regrows hair passed its second phase 3 - an immunotherapy that could let some rectal cancer patients skip surgery, chemo and radiation just got fda approved - a man lived 271 days off dialysis on a pig kidney - human cells were caught passing chromosome-sized chunks of DNA to their neighbors, and it changes how the neighbors behave we are on the verge of an era where the human body is a software problem and the update cycle gets shorter everyday stick around, it's going to get weird bio/acc

DTCC is not our friend. We must dismantle existing power structures, disintermediate, and put entities and their securities directly onchain to rebuild capital markets on the internet.

Seeing lots of these types of posts. And I agree, life is obviously much more expensive these days. But I'm wondering if anyone has done a study comparing what people were buying week in and out in the 70's and 80's versus today? I remember growing up, I got to buy 2 things of any value each year! My birthday and Christmas. That was it, and it wasn't a massive item either. Maybe got a little pocket money, but I had to work a high-school job to have anything. The TV was swapped out every 10 yrs. A holiday was a road trip. Clothes were looked after, some passed down. A restaurant was maybe once a month and a bagged lunch to school/work. And even with this, there wasn't much money left over. It was no picnic. Today, families (including mine) seem to buy all sorts of shit daily. The money flows like water. Coffees daily, order in 2-4 times weekly, restaurants and cocktails, 5 streaming plans, phones for all, flat-screen every room, to lazy to mow own grass, uber everywhere, one car per adult, clothes swapped frequently, renovations often, international trips, etc etc So when we talk about housing affordability, how much of this is choice/preference?
I'm in my 40s. I'm a lawyer. My wife is a lawyer. We both work full time. We cannot afford the house my parents purchased on a single electrician's income in their 30s. We cannot afford the house my immigrant grandparents purchased on a single MTA bus driver's salary in their 30s. They had SIX CHILDREN. For 30 years, politicians in Washington & their oligarch allies convinced regular people that this was just about avocado toast and fancy coffee. In reality, this is end-stage capitalism. Everyone is stuck in place. It's impossible to buy a home. It's too costly to move. We work too much to have passion projects. We don't have enough savings to start our own businesses. We can't afford to go without healthcare to do it. Thanks for writing this article @troy_closson. Would be very happy to discuss further. nytimes.com/2026/10/25/nyreg…

so I'm going to tell you a secret our team actually cares an absurd amount about building private money without backdoors if that means we have to keep out the terrorists, so we can have privacy for the good guys, so be it we're cypherpunks, not anarchists 🫑

even a child understands crypto if they understand a piggy bank. Crypto is just a piggy bank you can open yourself. Banking is when you have to ask you parents.

We aren’t really in a world of what β€œworks”. We’re in the part of the movie where you need to throw whatever you can in the path of the zombies and hope it slows them down.

wait wait wait so you’re telling me there’s a world computer that exists everywhere and nowhere, that no single person or company owns or controls, that anyone in the world can use, that anyone can deploy software to without asking permission, that’s been running continuously for over a decade, that processes billions of dollars in activity daily, that has tens of billions of dollars sitting inside permissionless contracts, that lets complete strangers exchange money and assets without trusting each other, that lets developers build on top of other people’s applications without even talking to them, that enable a type of networked generative art that’s never been possible before, that has no CEO, no business hours, and no off button? nice.

What’s happening in the AI-powered reverse engineering and decompilation is absolutely insane. Pretty soon all software will be de facto open-source. AI is coming for everything and everyone.
