Lanterns Episode 3 doesn't make me mad. It's not even bad television necessarily. Why do I say so?
Because it's NOT a DC comics adaptation. This show is somebody's feverish, warped fanfic pretending to be an adaptation when it's clearly not.
The John Stewart you see on the screen isn't John Stewart from the comics.
The comic version has a kind mother and a sister named Ellie who he loves very much. Depending on the version, he's a marine and/or an architect, with a stoic personality and the heart of heroic soldier.
The HBO character, whoever the creators imagined him to be...
Was raised by a neurotic, emotionally unstable father and a semi-psychotic race martyr for a mother. Abusive parents who make Joe Jackson look like Gandhi. Their goal was to raise John to be the Tiger Woods of Lanterns, but they wound up creating a maladjusted sociopath.
In the show, the rings don't work the same way as the comics. The Guardians aren't the same, the process for selecting Lanterns isn't the same, and the relationship between Hal and John isn't the same.
In a way, I'm glad James Gunn isn't getting to a Justice League film anytime soon (if at all), because neither John nor Hal from the show should be anywhere near a weapon as dangerous as a power ring beyond this limited series. Keep them contained, and all is well.
If Episode 3 upset you because you wanted to see your favorite comic characters brought to life, I understand. Your expectations were not, will not, and will never be met as long as James Gunn, Tom King, and Damon Lindelof are involved. For your inner peace, let it go. It doesn't count, and again, it's not the characters from the comics.
If you think Episode 3 is deep storytelling and the people who don't like it don't get it, I understand. To a tiny-brained lizard, a mud puddle looks mighty deep. If you think John's parents are anything but racist, abusive, terrible people, that lizard is you.
If you're happy that episode 3 "made the right people mad," I understand. The "right people" are DC Comics fans who love and respect the characters from the comics. Not fans of bizarre fanfic where everyone is terrible. Your fanfic is secure, and nobody can take it away from you.
However, the "right people" will go back to the source from which your fanfic flows. I'm betting there is no comparison. The comics are and will remain intact, unlike James Gunn's long-term career as head of DC Studios.

Because my skin is this color, I immediately recognized “Lanterns” Episode 3 as the BLACKETY-BLACK episode.
And the second the ANGRY BLACK MOM appeared, I knew where it was going.
Because it's ALWAYS the BLACK FEMALE - AKA the Democrat - who introduces this defeatist trash, because they seemingly have immunity from hate-speech considerations.
Sure enough, she threatens to kill the BLACK DAD, throws him out, then accepts a space diamond as “reparations” from the WHITE ALIEN FEMALE.
Then she lets us know the BLACK DAD became an ALCOHOLIC because he FAILED because he was AFRAID.
Then came the speech that told me this was going to be hot racist garbage:
“Do you know the differences in race on Earth? Do you understand how unfair it is to ask a black man in America if he’s afraid? We are terrified daily of persecution and still show up, sometimes better than everyone around us. Did you know that?”
And the line that pissed me off the most:
“Even in space, y’all don’t consider us.”
Right.
Black people are so entitled, they think THE UNIVERSE is supposed to cater to their racism.
That is when I turned it off.
FOR GOOD.
I am tired of the left telling me how hard I’ve had it...
...when the only people who have ever discriminated against me are them.
I CAN’T DO THIS SHIT ANYMORE.

Reminder that Nickelodeon fired all the original voice actors for being white.
Pirating this movie is morally correct.

Do you know that the average single man can go months or even years without non-sexual physical touch. No hugs. No hand-holding. No comforting pat on the back?
The only time many men experience gentle touch is from a barber or a paid sex worker.
This condition is called 'Skin Hunger,' and it leads to severe depression and anxiety. Society has labeled male touch as 'predatory' or 'creepy,' so men have learned to starve themselves of human contact just to make women feel comfortable. They are dying of loneliness in a crowded room.

So Crunchyroll apparently messed up the Brazilian dub audio for the To Be Hero X Episode and mixed it Rent a Girlfriend, this was the result.

There’s been this sinister trend in media pushing the idea that you should abandon your hobbies, friends, and family for your career. That message is only getting more explicit and grotesque as time goes on.
"I’ve had some time to think about this. I do think that a fair amount of the people who are dunking on that premise have not actually seen the movie... We wanted to tell a story that’s honest about what it means to lose everything and still find a way forward. People do get left behind..." #LiloAndStitch
