it's tempting to build complex features that make us sound impressive. but one of the most used parts of treasury is just asking questions about your money. so i made that a lot better. it now suggests questions based on your real numbers. simple change, but one real users appreciate a lot!
Say goodbye to generic suggestions. Personalized questions about your money, based on your real numbers. Now in Treasury.

why give @ycombinator more than 7% of your startup? I’ve spent a year bootstrapping @treasury_sh. It’s growing. Here’s why I’m applying to YC W27.

I built 150+ calculator pages and tools for Treasury. I turned the workflow into a free skill for your coding agent. Give it your product to research tool ideas, build the pages and check the SEO. github.com/juneadkhan/seo-to…
I 24x’d my Google traffic in 6 weeks. Here's how: I built 150+ free calculator pages: a paycheck calculator, income tax calculator and tax brackets for every US state. My site went from 780 Google impressions a day to 66,000 a day in 6 weeks.

i’m applying to @ycombinator W27. and i’m sharing the entire process in public. two months ago, you saw the application, the interview, and the rejection. since then, @treasury_sh MRR has doubled. weekly active users are up 4x. you watched me get rejected. stick around for what happens this time.

I left my dream job at $MSFT to build something of my own. I’m Junead, and I’m building Treasury, a personal finance app. Solo. No VC funding. I’m sharing the decisions, mistakes, and small wins along the way. Building something, or figuring out your next chapter? Follow along.

it's been a long journey, but it's the best feeling in the world knowing real people use what I'm building. Especially when I get that email or DM from someone telling me how Treasury helped them get out of debt, or buy their first house. still a long way to go, and so much i want to build. i'm going to keep making this better for you
We just hit 200 paying Treasury members! 🎉 It’s a small milestone, but it means a lot to us. Thank you to everyone who’s trusted us with their finances and helped shape Treasury into what it is today. We’re just getting started ❤️

I did say we'd be releasing our models periodically...introducing Gemini 4 Carbon, our next frontier model. Following Argon's release just two weeks ago, Carbon shows the pace at which we’re pushing the frontier, it ranks #1 on the recently updated v5.0 of @ArtificialAnlys Intelligence Index at 59. It also leads across key cybersecurity evaluations scoring 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro for finding vulnerabilities, 54.8% on ExploitGym for exploitation, and 71.0% on CWE-bench for patching. We’re seeing significant improvements in long-horizon tasks even compared to Argon, and we’ve strengthened frontier safeguards. As we did with Argon, we’re going to roll it out gradually + responsibly. Some trusted cyber defenders will get access starting this week. We'll be expanding it to more partners through our Fairwind Program, ahead of wider availability soon, so hang tight!

been using @bazzly for Treasury for the past month and it’s genuinely been a game changer for me. i use it to find old Reddit threads that rank on Google for stuff like “copilot alternatives” get real traffic. it’s changed how I think about SEO, and already seeing huge results. @FilipPanoski and @tibo_maker are smashing it 🙌

I considered paying for Greptile or CodeRabbit. Then I built my own. I’m open-sourcing the code-review pipeline I use for Treasury. Uses your Claude Code subscription and runs multiple review and verification passes. Achieving 79% recall on bugs in our repo. Free and open source. Check it out here: github.com/juneadkhan/openre…

To try it, give this to Claude Code or Codex in your repo: “Follow this setup prompt to install OpenReviewKit. Run the demo, then help me review my branch using my Claude Code subscription.” github.com/juneadkhan/openre…

Seattle is planning 21st-century transit around a 20th-century operating model. Sound Transit is on track to spend $100B on ST3, yet can't get a train to Ballard till 2060. Here's how I'd scrap ST3 rail-expansion completely and move funding toward two investments: a citywide autonomous bus network, and separately subsidized robotaxi rides. Every Seattle resident within 5 minutes of fast, reliable transit. Way cheaper. Here me out 🧵
The project to bring light rail service to Ballard remains unfunded as state and local leaders are looking into how to finish the voter-approved extension in the next 16 years. For months, through community meetings, Sound Transit has stated the start of service is scheduled for 2042, but there are still unanswered questions about how that's going to happen. Separately, I’d subsidize direct robotaxi rides across Seattle. Home to a restaurant. A late-night trip. A journey with bags or kids. At an assumed $10 subsidy per ride, funding 100,000 rides a day would cost $365 million a year. For reference, King County Metro’s countywide operating budget averages about $1.52 billion a year.

Imagine Seattle where fast transit is always a short walk away. A city where owning a car becomes the less convenient choice not through tax, through innovation. Use the roads already built. Give transit its own lanes. Design around frequency, autonomy and the freedom to get anywhere, fast. Before committing billions more to the system of yesterday, why doesn’t Seattle try to build the system of tomorrow?

most of my week goes into Treasury, the personal finance app i’m building. finishing features, fixing things, figuring out how to get more people to use it. there’s always something else on the list. but once in a while, i find the time to make time for me. i usually find i come back with more clarity, more inspiration. don't brute force it, go outside.

People are shocked Microsoft is offering 60,000 employees buyouts. I’m not. I left $MSFT last year on my own terms. AI made me realize how much I could build on my own. If you’ve been sitting there wanting to build something, and this offer gives you the runway, I’d take it. There has never been a better time to turn an idea into something real. Take the offer. Ride the AI wave. Build something you care about.
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.
