if you ever send me an AI generated email or message: 1) expect short term employment 2) expect to be blocked If you can't respect communication with others, I dont respect you. I also certainly don't respect Google PMs for thinking we need more of this trash.

Six months ago I started my first fiction book. It's low fantasy. Obviously, the first thing I built was a SQLite database. It contains 4,555 canonical facts about who's alive, who owes who, and what happened when. It's a whole universe. Book one is just a start!

Seeing software companies use yesterday's events to nudge worried businesses away from PHP... as if other languages don't have lurking security flaws. If anything, the response has reassured me. I feel more confident than ever building software with PHP for my clients.

Someone attacked our bundle app with 1-star reviews on Oct 17. They wrote 5 reviews stating the same message "I wasn't using the app, forgot to cancel, app charged me for months". Facts: 1. All five shops belong to the same company (it's in their T&C). 2. All reviews were left within 15 minute time frame. 3. Our bundles made them $275K additional revenue across all stores. 4. They never reached out to customer support for refund. They're ignoring our messages as well. This attack caused our app to drop in App Store rankings significantly and will definitely impact our installs / revenue. It's pretty crazy how much damage can 1 person do even for an app with 6.3K 5-star reviews. cc @liam_at_shopify @blairbeckwith @ShopifyDevs

If you're switching away from @Railway, don't go with any of the vendors using Railway's breach to poach customers right now. You want a high-integrity vendor, not one virtue signaling on one of the worst cybersecurity days in years just to grow a little. Any mature provider knows this can happen to anyone, so they'd never risk the "come over here, we're safe" look. They also know most real customers can't switch overnight. And I say this as a pretty frustrated Railway customer who's looking at alternatives, too.

An unprecedented day in my history with PHP. Some bumps along the way, but really proud of the @laravel team for working through the night ensuring all of our products and customers had patches available to them and, when possible, applied automatically. Given the advancement of agents, it's quite possible this won't be the last time this happens, and it's likely PHP won't be the only language that goes through this. We built some solid muscle today to do even better next time. Onward. 🫡

The exact same model launched by someone famous would’ve crossed 100K views overnight. Sometimes I wonder what’s even the point of spending countless hours researching, engineering, and pushing the frontier forward when the name behind the work matters more than the work itself. It’s genuinely disheartening and demotivating 😅 Feels like if you’re not already somebody, you’re NGMI in this world of paid promotions and personal brands. But we keep showing up. We keep building. Another big launch coming soon :) Maybe one day the work will speak louder than the name behind it.

Has anyone seen the prompts used by these awful reply bots? I'd be fascinated to know how they make their posts so soulless and infuriating Reply bots: this is your chance! Tell me your prompt and I'll tolerate one additional reply from you without blocking

Day 12/ We’ve made improvements to Codex & Work that increase the effective usage you get. We achieved this by reusing context across subagents, keeping context cached longer, and improved request routing that allows us to increase cache hits.

we announced Jev 1.14 on 10.14 at 1:14pm PT 🔥 a new and improved model, along with experimental features for our dreamers: • images • a new box type • longer context surprise, Jev was already able to see you! 👁️ BUT our bar for production-grade intelligence is quite high, so builders beware, these are preview features. enter the ~*~ danger zone ~*~ at your own risk. 🚨

This morning I wrote 12,000 lines of code, planned our entire family fall trip to DC, and reviewed and shipped docs. But it just feels like an average morning. It’s so easy to become numb to the velocity AI gives you and what would've felt like a miracle a year ago now just feels like a regular Monday.
