emerged from my first thesis advisory committee meeting and feeling very grateful for a very engaged bunch with lots of questions and advice.
ask me how they are again in 2 years. 🤭
Much space for consideration of AI within larger health system goals.
A new Perspective highlights the major themes shaping clinical AI in 2026, while identifying priorities for safer and more effective implementation. Read the full Perspective: nejm.ai/4ilMIfD
ya but let’s see it in real-world setting
Just published @Nature
A 3-agent AI personal health agent exceeded performance of a large language model/chatbot and serves as a foundation to build on for integrating sensor data, medical knowledge and coaching

looking for courses for semester two.
seems like a reasonable course for performative ai implementation.

Had a productive day in Jakarta, and got a chance to discuss our approach to health system strengthening programmes with other cool people in the field. 🧡

Introducing Drama 3: the most emotive and controllable TTS model in the world
And yes, it's open-weight.
You can now control how even a single word should sound, change its tone, and shift your voice mid-sentence.
Uncle Roger was impressed too.

Today, Baroness Campbell of Surbiton delivered a speech in the @UKHouseofLords using an AI recreation of her voice, built by ElevenLabs. A first for the UK Parliament.
Baroness Campbell has spinal muscular atrophy, which affects her speech. The Baroness has now created an AI voice that replicates the tone, rhythm, and pitch of her original voice.
Our technology has now been used to restore the voices of more than 11,000 people who have lost their voices through injury or illness, and we’ve committed to help one million people living with voice loss around the world.

the problem with doing a phd on ai is that the technology moves so quickly there is no way to keep up.
Our medical research system, AMIE, is the first patient-facing conversational diagnostic tool of its kind to be studied prospectively in a real-world clinical setting.
In a study, published today in @TheLancet, we found that when patients chatted with AMIE before an in-person appointment, the interaction built their confidence and helped them organize their thoughts. And physicians who reviewed the information from the patient conversation got more time back to focus on collaborative care and shared decision-making instead of digging through data.
A week in Timor-Leste 🇹🇱 to learn about the country’s health system.
Grateful to the Ministry of Health, @WHOTLS, UNPAZ, and the Singapore Embassy for the discussions on the priorities and opportunities for the country’s health and population.
Got to talk abt AI in public health with students from the faculty of public health at Universitas de Paz in Timor-Leste today.
Public health practitioners are able to see the system implications of AI implementation and should play a bigger role in defining the challenges where AI solutions can be applied.
spent some time learning abt the singapore public sector primary care with with Indonesia dg primary care dr endang yesterday morning.
the 22 polyclinics in singapore do so much in preventative care across the life course, beyond seeing patients when they are sick.
