It’s official!
I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that my next book will be published by @eerdmansbooks.
It’s tentatively titled: “Conversation Seeking Communion: The Art of Christian Disagreement.”
It hasn’t been written yet, but you should definitely order a copy today.
I have a confession to make and I hope you’ll forgive me:
Today I started listening to Christmas music.
How does the triune God love His enemies?
The Father orders a place be created for them. Namely, hell.
When He could have annihilated them.
The Son willingly engages with their chief representative. Namely, Satan.
When He could have ignored him.
The Spirit patiently endures them and sustains their breath. Namely, everyone.
When He could have withdrawn from them.
Let us learn from our Father, Frater, and Friend on how to love our enemies.
My daughter in college texted me excitedly that it’s been about a month since we released a @proneighbor Two Pour Spirits podcast episode and she’s excited to listen to the new episode that dropped today.
I just about wept.
It’s a wonderful reminder: Don’t try to make it big. Or be smarter than everyone else. Or have cutting-edge analyses. Just be faithful; step up to the mic; and continue to offer teaching to your children diligently (and digitally).
Cannot wait to read this!

It's almost Sunday.
Keep making those grain offerings this week and sprinkling them with the salt of the covenant (Leviticus 2:13).
This morning I started out composing a tweet about how much I love Abraham Kuyper’s idea of “civic righteousness.”
By noon it was a meditation on how it has informed my thinking about a “more” Christian approach to societal living.
Now it’s almost an essay and I think it could to find a place in my Newman/Kuyper project on the family and civic formation!
